Insurance group Kelly benefits says that more than half a million people have now been affected in the large data breach – this is what we know

Insurance group Kelly Benefits has confirmed that the suffering of a cyber attack in which the sensitive information about more than half a million customers has lost.
In a data breach published on his website, the company said that “suspicious activity” has encouraged to bring in forensic specialists from third parties for an investigation – and the results showed a threat actor who stealed the network between 12 – 2024 and “certain files” stealed.
At the beginning of March 2025, Kelly established benefits that it lost the full names of people, sofi numbers, tax -ID numbers, birth dates, medical information, information about health insurance and financial account information. The combination of the stolen data varies from person to person.

As usual in these scenarios, the company has also submitted a new form to the office of the Attorney General of Maine, which states that exactly 553,660 people were affected by the attack.
Kelly Benefits offers integrated employee administration, wage processing, insurance brokers and HR services.
His payroll administration alone serves north of 2,000 employers, processes around two million salary and issues more than 100,000 W -2S forms annually. For benefits it has more than 10,000 business customers and covers more than 8,000 people.
Among the companies that use its services (and as such, are affected by the attack) are United Healthcare, Oneamerica Financial Partners and Humana Insurance Ace.
The organization did not say who the threat actors were, or what they wanted to achieve. At the time of the press, no groups claimed responsibility for this attack and the data still has to leak somewhere on the dark web. In the meantime, Kelly advanced benefits to stay vigilant and to be wary of potential phishing attacks, identity theft or fraud.
