iOS 18.1 Beta 3 for iPhone 16 with Apple Intelligence reportedly released
Apple has rolled out the iOS 18.1 Beta 3 update for its latest iPhone 16 lineup, according to a report. The update is said to bring artificial intelligence (AI) features such as writing tools and web page summaries, powered by the company’s Apple Intelligence platform, which was first unveiled at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in May. Users who purchase any of the iPhone 16 models will therefore be able to update their devices to the iOS 18.1 Beta 3 software version right out of the box.
iOS 18.1 Beta 3 Update for iPhone 16: What’s New?
Apple initially issued the iOS 18.1 Beta 3 update for the iPhone 15 Pro models in August with build number 2B5034e. However, a new version has now been released reportedly introduced for the iPhone 16 series with build number 22B5034o. The most notable addition in this update is the addition of Apple Intelligence features – the company’s AI suite.
The iOS 18.1 Beta 3 update for iPhone 16 brings writing tools with options to change the tone of text, summarize it, or generate a list. The feature works not only in Apple apps like Notes or Mail, but also in third-party apps like WhatsApp. It also adds the ability to summarize web pages in Safari when reading view is enabled.
The Cupertino-based text giant also rolled out its Clean Up tool, which as the name suggests, can remove unwanted objects, background or text from images using Apple’s AI model. Other new features included in the update include the ability to type to Siri and the new interface, a revamped Photos app, more options in Control Center, better home and lock screen customization, and a new Passwords app that stores passwords and passcodes.
The iOS 18 update for iPhone will begin rolling out globally to users on September 16. However, other than the iPhone 16 series, only iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max users will be able to take advantage of Apple Intelligence features.
