The iPhone 16 has arrived — Apple’s latest smartphone release has landed in stores and started shipping. The Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods 4 also launched today.

When will the iPhone 16 launch?
Apple’s iPhone 16 and 16 Pro series will are available in stores from today, September 20th. If you pre-ordered your iPhone 16 on the first possible day, it can be delivered to your door today. You can also now go to any store that sells the iPhone — such as an Apple Store, BestBuy, or your carrier — and buy from their available inventory. Use the Apple Store app to select the model, storage and color you want, and you can see if it’s available at your local Apple Store.
It’s not unheard of for popular configurations of colors, models, and storage capacities to sell out and be delayed. As such, if you’re determined to buy a new iPhone right away, we recommend keeping a few backup options in mind. Or be prepared to wait.

How do I order the iPhone 16?
Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 began in the early hours of Friday, September 13. Now that the iPhone 16 series has officially launched, you can order the phone of your choice from online retailers, carriers, and in-store stores.
First, determine which iPhone model you want to buy: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro MaxThen select the color and storage capacity you want, and decide whether to trade in an older iPhone. You can get up to $650 back through Apple’s site.

Then choose an optional carrier and AppleCare Plus coverage (or not) and click the blue Add to bag button. You can then choose the accessories you want to add and finally enter your payment information to complete your purchase.

Prices vary depending on the amount of storage you purchase, but here are the prices:

How do iPhone 16 trade-in offers work?
Some carriers offer up to $1,000 in eligible trade-in options, which could get you an iPhone 16 Pro for free. It’s important to note that most carrier trade-in offers require you to be a customer, and they often apply to the most expensive plan options.
Some retailers with trade-in programs may offer you gift cards toward future purchases instead, so you’re not locked into a contract to take advantage of the savings you get by parting with your old device. However, these offers may not offer as much as traditional trade-in offers. Below, you’ll find specific information on how much you can expect to receive for trading in your phone at certain retailers and carriers.

Best deals for the iPhone 16
We’ll continue to update the list below with the best iPhone 16 deals from all major US retailers and carriers.
You can already order the iPhone 16 series in the Apple Store. The expected delivery date is September 20.
Apple is also offering some carrier deals with pre-orders. Existing Verizon customers can save up to $930 with a trade-in; AT&T customers can save up to $800 with a trade-in, and both T-Mobile and Boost customers can save up to $1,000 with no trade-in required.
T-Mobile has the entire iPhone 16 lineup up for pre-order, with in-store availability at T-Mobile on September 20. Both new and existing customers can trade in an eligible device to Go5G Next and get an iPhone 16 Pro for free or up to $1,000 off any other iPhone 16 model. Those who trade in and have the Go5G Plus plan can get a free iPhone 16 or up to $830 off any other iPhone 16 model. If you have another Go5G, you could still be eligible for the iPhone 16 or up to $830 off when you trade in and add a new line.
AT&T is taking preorders for the iPhone 16 line. You can get up to $1,000 off the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, and up to $830 off the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, with a qualifying trade-in. That essentially gets you a free iPhone 16 or 16 Pro. These discounts will be spread out over 36 months as bill credits.
Eligible devices include smartphones with a minimum trade-in value of $180 for up to $1,000 off the iPhone 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max. For other phones in the series, the trade-in device must have a minimum value between $130 and $179. Additionally, customers must sign up for or have an unlimited voice and data plan.
Xfinity Mobile will offer the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, all of which are available for pre-order beginning Friday, September 13, and will be available on September 20. It will also offer the AirPods 4 as well as the latest Apple Watches, which are available for pre-order now and will be available on September 20.
At this time, no deals have been announced, but we expect them to be similar to those of other airlines. We will update this post as soon as these deals are announced.
Verizon will be offering the iPhone 16 series for pre-order starting Friday, September 13, with availability starting Friday, September 20. They’re already offering a few deals.
New and existing Verizon customers on the Unlimited Ultimate plan can get an iPhone 16 Pro for free or up to $1,000 off another phone in the iPhone 16 series when you trade in a phone in any condition. If you opt for the Unlimited Plus plan, you can get up to $830 off, or opt for the Unlimited Welcome plan and you’ll still get $415 off phones in the iPhone 16 series.
If you switch to Verizon or add a new line, you can get an iPhone 16 Pro for just $10 per month with the Ultimate Unlimited plan (36 months) or $15 per month with the Unlimited Plus plan.
And finally, there’s the option to bring your own device and add a new line to receive a promotional credit: $360 if you opt for the Unlimited Plus plan or $540 if you opt for the Unlimited Ultimate. This promotional credit is applied over 36 months.
Best Buy began preorders for the iPhone 16 series on September 13. If you purchase your new iPhone through Best Buy with a qualifying activation and trade-in through AT&T, you can save up to $1,000 on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Walmart has the iPhone 16 lineup up for preorder, with availability set for September 20. While Walmart isn’t offering unlocked model deals, you can save on carrier options through AT&T. New and existing AT&T customers can trade in a qualifying device worth $130 and get up to $830 off; if you have a $180 device to trade in, you can get up to $1,000 off the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. You’ll need to activate a new line or upgrade your line to a qualifying plan if you don’t already have one.
Pre-order any iPhone 16 lineup phone from Visible and get $360 toward your Visible Plus service. Simply sign up for a new line of service with Visible, purchase an eligible device either with down payment or at full retail price, select the Visible Plus plan, and activate your service within 30 days. You’ll receive $10 off your monthly service for 36 months, for a total savings of $360.
