Irish Village Team plays incredible line-up from football legends, with Champions League-winning hard man at the back, Everton Hero in front and England star in goal

An Irish village football team chose a surprising opposition to play while they rose against one side with an incredible line-up of football legends.

Ayrfield United FC, a local outfit based in Noord -Dublin, imposed their mind against some of the very best because they were confronted Premier League Legends side including a Champions League winner, a former keeper of England and one Everton Cult Hero.

The will of Jaap Stam, David James, Jermaine Beckford and Yakubu were all part of the team to stand up opposite Ayrfield on Saturday afternoon on their grounds drive ground.

Yakubu and Beckford rolled back the years while the former Toffees duo led the line and together were seen in a photo placed by one fan on social media.

In response, a second called him a ‘legend’ when he saw that he appeared in the game.

The Legends side also had former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam in their ranks

Yakubu was happy to be remembered for his time in the Premier League, where he scored 95 goals in 252 performances during Proverbs for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton and Blackburn Rovers.

The last season of the Nigerian on MerseSide was shared with Beckford, who played for Everton after a long stint at Leeds United.

To give as many local players as possible the chance to test their skills, Ayrfield rotated three different line-ups for 30 minutes to the side of the Legendes Die perhaps at the end of the 90 minutes.

Post on Instagram After the game, Former Manchester United Center-Back Stam Ayrfield thanked for being invited to play in the event.

In answer, Ayrfield United wrote: ‘Jaap, you still have your legend. Brilliant to have here today. Thank you very much for coming ‘.

Further comments about appreciation of fans read: ‘What a day! Congratulations with all involved ‘.
