Is this the most OTT Airbnb in Britain? Very likely: in the seaside holiday home of Little Nan in Weymouth

A leopard print staircase, an EastEnders-inspired bar and a framed photo of Cilla Black.

These are just some of the treasures at Little Nan’s Weymouth: a holiday home and perhaps the most extravagant Airbnb in the UK, and perhaps in all of Europe.

The semi-detached Dorset property is located in Chapelhay, just minutes from Weymouth Harbor and Newton’s Cove. While it’s nothing special on the outside, on the inside it’s a commitment to “extreme maximalism.”

The walls are decorated with neon lights, plastic ivy and framed photos of British celebrities, from the royal family to ’90s Z stars, while plush furniture, animal print carpets and cuddly toys take up the rest of the space.

In every nook and cranny you’ll find a wealth of kitschy items and nostalgic memorabilia.

The house is an extension of Little Nan’s in Deptford, an award-winning cocktail bar in south-east London, decorated like a retro living room and with a distinct love for EastEnders soap character Pat Butcher.

Tristan Scott, the brains behind Little Nan’s, founded the bar in 2013 in honor of his “late Little Nan JoJo,” who passed away in 2010 at the age of 103.

It contains all her belongings and is furnished in the lavish style they both loved.

All items in the house belong to owner Tristan Scott's grandmother or were purchased by Tristan from local antique shops, vintage stores, and thrift shops.

The holiday home, a project Tristan, 42, started at the start of the pandemic, is another dedication to his late grandmother.

All the items in the house belong to his grandmother or were sourced by Tristan from local antique shops, vintage yards and charity shops.

The eclectic four-storey property features a large downstairs lounge area next to an open-plan kitchen, where guests will find a large sign reading ‘GET OUTTA MY PUB’ above the golden bust of Queen Victoria.

The lounge features a cupboard full of dressing up items, a soft three-seater sofa with mismatched cushions and a large TV.

The house has three bedrooms - two are named after Tristan's grandmother and grandfather (JoJo, above, and John Clyde) and the third is a '90s-themed bedroom, which is decorated like Tristan's own teenage bedroom (top three images)

There’s also a midnight feast bar with four bar stools and a props cupboard full of hats, wigs and costumes for you to dress up in.

Upstairs, on the top floor, is a cozy movie room. The space is large enough for eight guests and has a balcony with ocean views.

As you explore the holiday home you might stumble across Little Nan’s large collection of porcelain dolls or her set of TV Soap Tea Pots, including the Queen Vic Pub, Rovers Return and Faulty Towers.

They are also suitable for the royal family. Above the bed in the JoJo bedroom hangs a large royal coat of arms pasted on a leopard print wallpaper.

Even the toilets are over the top.

The downstairs toilet of ‘The LAV of Love’ features two selfie mirrors, while ‘The Eastend Mermaid Bath & Shower Room’ is decorated with artificial flowers and a flamingo bust protrudes from the wall.

There is also a backyard, suitable for smoking, and a front yard, suitable for barbecuing.

Guests will ‘never be bored’ at the holiday home. According to the website, the house is ‘packed with modern conveniences to make your stay a visual and comfortable delight’.

Little Nan’s holiday home can sleep up to ten guests. A two night minimum stay starts at £900 and can be booked on Airbnb, here. For more information about Little Nan’s visit www.littlenans.co.uk/.
