Speaking to ANI about his decision, Gahlot said: “Dilution does not happen overnight; it happens over a period of time. The values that drew me and many others to AAP have been eroded. I quit when I felt that the core ideologies of the party were no longer intact.”
Gahlot, who had been a prominent figure in the AAP from its inception, pointed out that the party came into existence through the collective efforts of millions of people who believed in its principles. “A party is never formed by just one individual. It is built when millions of people join a shared ideology. Unfortunately, I saw these ideologies and values diluted over time,” he added.
The former minister also accused AAP of prioritizing conflict with the central government over governance. He said his departure was prompted by the realization that the party had deviated from its original mission of ethical and transparent governance.
‘There are many more people who share my concerns, but have not yet gathered the courage to leave. I hope my decision inspires them to act according to their conscience,” Gahlot said.
Gahlot also commented on the Swati Maliwal case and said, “I have no knowledge of what happened there, but if such reports come, it is unfortunate… All these kinds of things happening anywhere are wrong, especially when it’s about a woman, and so is a woman.” M.P. Such controversies are never good in public life.”
Gahlot officially joined the BJP at the party headquarters on Monday in the presence of senior leaders including Union ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Harsh Malhotra, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, BJP vice-president Baijayant Jay Panda and national media head Anil Baluni.
