‘It tightens your waist’, Asda shoppers cheer as they find ‘the best Odd Muse imitation’
SUPERMARKET shoppers are thrilled with the imitation little black dress that’s £102.50 cheaper than the original.
Asda’s own fashion brand George recently released their Black Crepe Mock Pocket Pleated Mini Dress in stores.
Available in sizes 38 to 54, priced at £22.50 and featuring a flattering V-neck and pleated skirt.
And fashionistas won’t have missed the fact that this pair bears a striking resemblance to Odd Muse’s £125 version, thanks to the faux front pockets and cinched waist.
The Odd Muse ultimate muse cap sleeve mini dress regularly sells out thanks to its flattering fit and timeless style.
After seeing the Asda knock-off in store, it was hailed as “the best Odd Muse knock-off” by an enthusiastic customer.
As she put it on she said, “If I’m wrong, let me know, but this could very well be an Odd Muse copy.
“I can’t get over the quality of this dress. The short sleeves, the way it cinches your waist, the little flared skirt.
“It fits me like a glove, it’s comfortable, it’s lined and it’s only £22. Very understated.”
A second fashionista responded enthusiastically: “I’m so happy with this find. I can’t help but have a muse every now and then, haha.”
A third wrote: “I’ve been wanting a black sleeveless mini dress for ages.
“When the dress arrived, I saw how beautiful the material was. The dress is of good quality and has a good price-quality ratio.”
Meanwhile, a fourth joined in the conversation: “I love this dress! It fits well and is great for work. It looks so cute on you.”
Elsewhere in the store, customers are raving about the affordable T-shirt, which comes in a variety of patterns.
Fashion fans were wildly enthusiastic about the stylish T-shirt with embroidered pattern. Fans preferred the cherry red version.
The T-shirt is also available with lemon and palm tree patterns.
The embroidered T-shirt has a crew neck and is made from soft jersey material and costs just £7.
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?
DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale says:
Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you pop in to do your weekly shop, you can also pick up a selection of wallet-friendly, stylish items for the whole family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 percent rise in the quarter thanks to ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earned the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s George clothing line earned the supermarket £1.5m in 2023, 80 per cent of clothes at Sainsbury’s were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons have also risen by 2 per cent over the past year.
How is it that supermarket fashion is so successful?
The clothing is not only affordable but also of good quality, and much of the clothing is part of programs such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last for years.
And because they buy so much stock, they can deliver quickly and the volumes are cheaper.
