It was the dress everyone was talking about at Tammy Hembrow’s wedding. Now an extraordinary rumor is making the rounds about WHY Anna McEvoy upstaged the bride…
It was a perfect day at the Château Du Soleil wedding venue in Byron Bay. The kind of setting dreams – and Instagram posts – are made of.
The bride, Tammy Hembrow, looked radiant in her strapless ivory and soft pink dress, as her tulle train caught the gentle breeze. Guests gathered in elegant clusters as they sipped champagne as they exchanged vows with Love Island star Matt Zukowski, who wore a black tailored suit to match his four groomsmen.
But not everyone was enraptured by the bride alone.
Like a blue comet streaking across a pastel sky, Anna McEvoy, the groom’s best friend, made her spectacular entrance in a daring navy dress.
With its plunging neckline and thigh-high slit, this sleek piece seemed designed to command attention. And the attention it attracted. The 32-year-old’s outfit, teamed with statement gold heels and a cream handbag, showed off her gym-trained physique to perfection and oozed sex appeal.
Heads turned. Some undoubtedly admired her boldness – Hembrow and Zukowski’s wedding, after all was the influencer event of the year. But was McEvoy’s outfit a calculated violation of the unspoken rule ‘never put the bride on stage’?

Was McEvoy’s outfit a calculated violation of the unspoken rule ‘never the bride on stage’?
She would never admit it, but the gossiping guests couldn’t rule out the possibility.
Whatever her intentions, McEvoy’s choice of clothing ensured that the story wasn’t entirely the bride’s alone.
Now that the dust has settled on the fairytale wedding, social media sleuths are convinced they have discovered the real backstory behind the blue dress.
They believe McEvoy, who co-hosts the Where’s Your Head At? podcast with Zukowski — wore the revealing outfit as “payback” after Hembrow wore numerous bridal white dresses to her wedding party in Greece in May.
Of course, that would violate the second unspoken rule of wedding attire: only the bride can wear white.
“Tammy did it with her at her wedding. Payback,” one Instagram sleuth wrote in response to Daily Mail Australia’s exclusive photos.
Others suggested the couple’s choice of attire for each other’s wedding spoke volumes about how Hembrow and McEvoy reportedly feel about each other.
And one influencer watcher noted that McEvoy was absent from the joint Hens and Bucks party – which was strange considering her close relationship with the groom.

Regardless of what her intentions were, McEvoy’s sartorial choice ensured that the story wasn’t entirely the bride’s alone.

“There was a reason she was NOT invited,” they snapped.
Feud or no feud, McEvoy seemed to be having the time of her life at the wedding, and it seemed that whatever disagreement led to her being turned away from the money-and-chicken night last month had been ironed out..
In May, it was McEvoy’s turn to say “I do” with her long-term partner Michael Staples. The couple got married in Greece and the occasion was just as lavish as Hembrow and Zukowski’s wedding.
But it wouldn’t be a celebrity wedding without a little drama, and that was thanks to none other than… a newly engaged Hembrow and Zukowski.
The couple were accused of overshadowing McEvoy and Staples’ special day with their beloved holiday spam – which started the moment they landed in Corfu.
It was immediately picked up by the hosts of Outspoken, a wildly popular podcast that documents influencer drama.

In a photo from Hembrow and Zukowski’s Instagram party, they were seen kissing in matching white outfits next to a cozy-looking McEvoy and Staples. ‘It felt a bit like ‘me, me, me’. Like, “We’re getting married next, this is all about us,” the hosts of the Outspoken podcast noted
‘I was wondering how Anna felt about inviting Tammy as she has been posting a lot of content while in Corfu. It almost overshadows it.”

Now that McEvoy’s blue dress stole the spotlight this weekend, can the two ladies perhaps now call it a draw and let bygones be bygones?
I wouldn’t bet on it.
