‘It would be great if BJP wins one seat in 2025,’ says Delhi minister Atishi | India News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister and MONKEY Party leader Atishi launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying even if the BJP wins a single seat in the 2025 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, it would be a big event for them.
“In 2020 (elections), BJP gave the slogan of getting 45 (seats) but got only 8. Now, in 2025, the kind of scams they are constantly playing to harass the people of Delhi, whether it is stopping water supply to Delhi through their Haryana government or it is a conspiracy to ruin the government schools of Delhi…” Delhi Minister Atishi said.
“I am telling you today with full confidence that if the BJP wins even one seat in 2025, it will be a big step for them,” she added.
Earlier, after Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena ordered the orders to be implemented on the Handover from 5,000 teachers Education Minister Atishi has stated that they will strongly oppose any attempt to stop the education revolution in Delhi in future.
Her comments came after LG Saxena ordered a temporary halt to the transfer of 5,000 teachers from government schools in Delhi.
“On July 2, the BJP transferred 5,000 teachers of government schools overnight through its LG. This transfer was done against the order of Delhi Education Minister. These 5,000 teachers were transferred because these are the teachers who transformed the schools in the last decade along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. These are the teachers, due to whose hard work, the government schools of the city are better than private schools today,” the AAP leader had said on Sunday.
The AAP leader said they are happy with LG Saxena’s order to stop the transfer of teachers and the party will continue to fight for the rights of teachers and education of children in Delhi.
“But we had promised then that the Delhi government, Arvind Kejriwal, would not let schools suffer. We will continue to fight for the rights of teachers and education of Delhi’s children. Today, we are happy that BJP, their LG, had to stop the transfer of these 5,000 teachers. If there is any attempt in future to stop Delhi’s education revolution, we will strongly oppose it,” she added.
