‘It’s criminal,’ shoppers rage after spotting Christmas shopping in The Range

SHOPPERS have criticised a bargain shop for stocking up on Christmas decorations, claiming it is a ‘criminal’ sight so early in the year.

It was just a week ago that The Range frustrated people with their Halloween section.

And now observant shoppers have also discovered the festive bargains.

Crafty mum Lorna Cooper from Paisley was stunned when she came across a number of new Christmas products in preparation for the winter season.

And that led to outrage from her fellow customers, who felt that it ‘ruins the magic’ to be in the store so early, especially with the summer holidays still in full swing.

Post message on Feed your family on around £20 a weeka public Facebook group with 679,000 followers, Lorna shared snaps of the packed shelves in her local branch.

The photos showed a number of products with the theme of Santa Claus and snow.

There was a cream cushion covered in embroidered Santa hats for £3.50, a version with a 3D Santa for £10 and a cute gonk cushion for £2.50.

Christmas lovers can also pick up some festive bedding now – with Christmas trees, festive dogs, snowmen and Nutcracker options available from £2.99

Other Christmas products included a reindeer-shaped draught excluder.

Lorna captioned her post: “OMG, Christmas has arrived at The Range.

“I already felt bad when they had Halloween stuff last week.”

Her discovery caused a stir on social media, with many people reacting strongly to the store for selling Christmas decorations so early.

“Christmas in July in shops is criminal and should not be allowed,” one of them fumed.

A second replied: “Wish you would throw life away, just enjoy each season as it comes.”

A third wrote: “Seeing Christmas everywhere in the shops for months on end ruins the magic of Christmas for my children. Especially when you try to explain to them how far away Christmas is and they don’t get it because it looks like Christmas everywhere.”

“This ruins it for the kids so early,” agreed a fourth.

Someone else pleaded: “NO!! Let’s just enjoy the summer while we can.”

A sixth joined in the conversation: “Those can go in the bin. F***ing Christmas in July.”

Meanwhile, someone else asked: “What the hell is wrong with these companies? It ruins it when Christmas comes around and the shine is off.”

Others seem happy to get into the Christmas spirit before summer is over.

“Yeaaaah!!! I love Christmas, I already started it,” someone said.

Someone else said enthusiastically, “We have to go to The Range.”

And a third wrote: “Oh my god I love it.”
