The homeowner posted the tip in the Facebook group DIY on a budget UK.
She was responding to a question about keeping windows cool in hot weather.
The original poster stated that they wanted to make sure the glass didn’t get too hot for their pets.

“Buy some Aluminet and hang it above the window,” the Facebook user suggested.
She explained that the window treatments are renter-friendly, describing them as “easy to put up and take down.”
Although she added that the item “isn’t cheap”, an affordable version of the shade cloth is available on Temu for £11.04.
The durable reflective mesh covering provides protection against UV rays and comes with an installation cord.
“It’s used to cover crates for dog shows so they don’t get too hot,” the commentator said.
The Facebook user not only used the cloth on her windows and dog beds, but also took it with her when she was out and about.
“I also use it in my car and over a tent to keep it cool,” she says.
“It works. It makes a difference. Great stuff.”
