I’ve stopped spending £40 at the nail salon thanks to a £1.50 Poundland bargain
IF you’re a beauty lover like us, you know that visits to the nail shop can add up quickly, with most of us spending around $40 to $50 a month on our manis.
But as cash-strapped Brits look for ways to cut their costs where possible, one woman has revealed she can make her hands look chic for less than £2.
This is because instead of spending a fortune on the latest trends at the nail shop, Holly Wells, from Knighton, Wales, swears by an affordable bargain from the high street.
Take to Poundland Appreciation Society Taking to Facebook, the Welsh girl explained that she could no longer afford expensive visits to the nail salon, where she would spend just under £50.
”I can no longer pay €40 every three weeks to have my acrylic nails done.
“Went to Poundland and found these beauties for just £1.50,” the beauty lover raved about the wallet-friendly purchase the mail.
Holly, who now saved a whopping £38.50 with the affordable find, also proudly showed off her new beautiful nude press-on nails with a pink French tip-inspired design and a glossy finish.
Furthermore, she noted that not only did the artificial nails look fantastic, but the quality did not match the low price.
”I’ve been wearing them for a few days and they are working well.
“I’m very pleased,” Holly added, proving there’s no need to waste hundreds of dollars every year on a beautiful manicure.
The Welsh beauty fanatic added that these nails are also said to be ‘much less damaging than acrylic nails’.
To remove them, Holly followed a YouTube tutorial and soaked her fingers ”in a mixture of warm water, Fairy liquid and olive oil”.
“Then you can pop them off with a stick.”
Although some warned that the glue supplied with the set was ‘rubbish’, Holly claimed she had no issues with it.
“They’re still sturdy!”
Holly’s post has clearly made an impression on many as it has racked up over 100 likes and dozens of comments since sharing her top buy.

Another also had only positive things to say, writing: ”I love the Poundland nails, they are great, and they stay on well, they look very natural too, I currently have the matte black square one.
”I used to always have my nails done in the salon, but now that I have switched to this one, I also save so much money. Definitely a great value.
”I also buy the nail polish to care for my toenails and get a matching color. It takes ages. Really good quality.”
