I’ve tried 5 cleaners – one favourite stinks but a £3.50 buy is great for limescale
SPANISH cleaning products are currently all the rage on social media, with videos praising them reaching millions of views.
Mother of three Amanda Knowles has always favoured more traditional British brands, but now she’s tried out the trend and shared her thoughts with Fabulous.
The 46-year-old Londoner has a “very busy household” with three teenagers and a “lively dog”.
“I love cleaning. You could say I’m a huge cleaning fanatic, but I know that’s a weird expression,” Amanda says.
“I love the satisfaction of a thorough cleaning and a fresh smelling house.
“It’s so satisfying to restart everything after a hard weekend, full of fun, and make it sparkle again.”
To make her home sparkle, the cleaning fanatic tried out five popular cleaning products from Spain.
ASEVI FLOOR CLEANER
For her first attempt, Amanda tested the £2.95 Asevi Floor Cleanerwhich comes in a liter bottle.
“You only need three small capfuls in a bucket of warm water, so the value is already five out of five,” she said.
“It removes dirt excellently and dries without leaving any residue, for a beautiful shine.”
However, Amanda pointed out a drawback of the effective cleaning product.
“The only downside I found was the smell, unfortunately it overpowers everything,” she explains.
“It’s like a strong commercial antibacterial scent and it delivers on the promise of an ‘intense scent’ – just not the scent I like.”
She gave the floor cleaner a four out of five star rating, adding that anyone who likes the scent would likely give it high marks.
Overall score: 4/5.
ASEVI DETERGENT
She then shared her thoughts on the £5.49 Asevi Detergentwhich is said to last 44 washes.
“This is amazing. I made sure the load was self-tanner and dirt free and all the stains disappeared after a 59 minute wash at 40 degrees,” said Amanda.
She explained that she hadn’t added any extra stain remover to the wash.
Cleaning Tips and Tricks
Here are some tips to clean your home like a pro:

Overall score: 5/5.
3 BRUJAS BATHROOM CLEANER
She also tested the £3.50 3 Brujas Bathroom Cleanerwhich is supplied in a 750 milliliter package.
Amanda pointed out that this is an “excellent value” considering viacal costs £3.50 for 500ml at Sainsbury’s.
“A five out of five for the price. This product smells like a lovely aftershave and removes dirt and limescale brilliantly,” she said.
“The scent lingers, so it’s also an extra air freshener, so for
“I think this is a keeper, I will definitely buy it again.”
Overall score: 5/5.
LOS DOS ROSAS MICROFIBER CLOTHS
The enthusiastic cleaner then assessed the £3.50 Los Dos Rosas microfiber cloth.
“This one is a little bit more expensive than the one in the UK, so value-wise it’s about a 3.5,” Amanda said.
“But what it lacks in value, it makes up for in brilliance: the shine on my taps.
“This is a great example of ‘you get what you pay for’, five out of five, no doubt about it.”
Overall score: 5/5, with a rating of 3.5/5.
3 BRUJAS GLASS AND MIRROR CLEANER
Finally, she shared her thoughts on the £3.50 3 Brujas Glass and Mirror Cleanerwhich is also available in a 750 milliliter bottle.
“This is very expensive compared to our Elbow Grease and other glass cleaners, so I have to say I give it a two out of five for value,” she said.
“But it does a great job and the Spanish have nailed the windows shut, there are no dirty marks when the sun shines on them.
“Five out of five for excellent work, just a shame it’s so expensive compared to British products.”
Overall score: 5/5, with a rating of 2/5.
Amanda concluded that “the Spanish have mastered cleaning products.”
“They all work great. Some are a little more expensive, but I would be hard-pressed to find a better smelling and more effective bathroom cleaner. It’s definitely worth it,” she said.
