Izzy Goodwin says that her promotional winning goal buzzed after London City Lionesses had achieved a draw with Birmingham and a place in the WSL.
The fierce hit by the attacker helped to make her side for the first time in their history in the Super League of the Women’s Super League.

The promotional contribution from London City means that the WSL will have a ladies team, not affiliated with a men’s club, fighting points in the division next season.
Their second Tier Triumph marks a peak for a side that has undergone a considerable change since he was taken over by the American businesswoman and sports investor Michelle Kang.
Goodwin, who ended this season as the highest score of the second level, said Sky Sports: “I don’t think I once scored such a goal in my life.
“I put everything in it. I am absolutely buzzing and glad I could help the team.

London City wins the ladies Championship The title comes a year after they finish eighth in the second year in the previous term.
Since Kang’s takeover of December 2023, where London City is bought the third side by her women’s sports organization Kynsica, their team has undergone a revision.

“We are very enthusiastic. When I came here for the first time, many people made that as an independent team.
“They asked how you could do this, because you don’t have a men’s team from which you can draw fairness, brand power and the fan base.
“For us, as an independent team to achieve this in a year, this is proof that everything is possible with the right investment and resources.”
Goodwin, who came to the club of Sheffield United Last July added: “We all love Michelle and what she did for this club.
“To play top teams such as that week in, week out, is what you dream of. I can’t wait.”

Goodwin broke the impasse two minutes in the second half yesterday with a powerful right -wing effort.
Chantelle Boye Hlorkah brought the score to 2-0 for the visitors in the 59th minute before Birmingham returned with goals from Emily van Egmond and Cho So-Hyun.
The visitors got stuck to seal the victory that earned them a place in the top layer six years after they became an isolated side after their escape from Millwall.
