SRINAGAR: An offshoot of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group, called the “Kashmir Tigers”, killed two members of the Village Defense Guard (VDG), Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, both residents of Ohli Kuntwara in Kishtwaron Thursday morning. The Mujahideen initially ignored them, but they continued the pursuit and came close, after which the Mujahideen held them back firmly.’
The statement continued: “After confessing their actions, both were executed. We are fighting against the occupying Indian Army, but it has been observed that some misguided individuals are joining the VDG, becoming instruments of the Army and pursuing the Mujahideen. incident should serve as a warning to those who would consider joining the VDG, otherwise they will suffer the same fate,” the Kashmir Tigers statement said.
Meanwhile, gunshots were heard during a cordon and search operation in Sagipora area of ​​Sopore in north Kashmir on Thursday evening. A senior police officer said a joint police-military team had launched a search operation in Sagipora based on specific intelligence.
Gunfire was heard during the search, prompting security forces to tighten the cordon around the area. According to police sources, two to three terrorists are suspected to be trapped inside a house and the gunfight continues as of the filing of this report.
