Disgraced Footy star Jared Heaney has been arrested in an alleged late night incident outside a Sydney pub just weeks after he was released from prison.

The 34-year-old went to dinner at a Parramatta hotel with former teammate Nathan Brown and his teammates on Sunday night.

Brown had played a reserve grade NRL game for the Eels earlier that afternoon and he and Hayne stayed at the Albion Hotel, leaving the venue at around 2 pm.

A heated verbal exchange erupted on the sidewalk outside after a street worker allegedly made derogatory remarks on Hayne, courier mail Reported.

Heyne is currently awaiting a third sexual assault trial after the Supreme Court overturned a previous sentence after serving nine months behind bars.

Parramatta Eels spoke to Brown on Sunday about the incident.

A source with knowledge of the conversation told the publication, “There was definitely no physical violence.

‘Jared got upset with a road worker and Nathan stood up for his partner.’

The incident was not reported to police, but the club said it would examine the accounts of any witnesses brought to its attention.

In his second trial in 2021, Hayne was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison on charges made by a woman from the NSW Hunter area that stemmed from the 2018 NRL Grand Final night.

His very first trial ended in a hung jury.

He was released in February for a third trial – which is not expected until at least October – after his barrister Tim Game SC successfully argued that there was an error in the legal directions given to the jury, and a pre-trial decision. I had an error. Evidence.

The Crown participated in both trials. Hayne performed forced oral and digital intercourse on a woman in his NSW Hunter bedroom on the night of the 2018 NRL Grand Finals.

Hayne has always maintained that the encounter was consensual.

Hayne’s bail conditions include $20,000 in bail, surrendering his passport and reporting to the police three times a week.

He must not contact or threaten the alleged victim or any witness and cannot enter the Newcastle Local Government Area.
