Jennifer Lopez ‘but NOT Ben Affleck’ will hit the red carpet in 2 weeks for the premiere of their film Unstoppable

Jennifer Lopez will attend the premiere of her film Unstoppable on September 6.

But her ex Ben Affleck, who co-produced the drama with her, will be there, according to PageSix.

The film will screen in the Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by a limited theatrical release in December 2024, via Amazon MGM Studios.

DailyMail.com reported earlier this week that certain producers of the film “tried to get the two to appear together at the Toronto premiere to create buzz around the film.”

But those producers didn’t get their way, because now only one of them will be present.

The project comes from Ben’s production company Artists Equity, which he co-founded with his good friend Matt Damon.

Affleck, 51, and Damon, 53, are among the film’s 14 producers.

Lopez, 55, plays the mother of a wrestler and she co-produced the project with her producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.

Production on the Amazon MGM Studios film wrapped last January.

Jennifer and Ben split in April.

The couple previously starred together in Gigli (2003) and Jersey Girl (2004). He also appeared in her film This Is Me… Now and in her documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

Unstopable follows the life of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and won a national championship in 2011 while competing at Arizona State University.

Actor Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight) plays Robles, with supporting roles played by Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle and Michael Peña.

Unstoppable is directed by William Goldenberg, who previously worked with Affleck as an editor on his 2023 film Air and on Argo (2012).

Ben and Jennifer have another film they worked on together: Kiss Of The Spiderwoman.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Manuel Puig and is set in an Argentine prison in 1981. Lopez plays the title role, a fantasy woman named Aurora created by Luis Molina (Tonatiuh), a homosexual hairdresser serving an eight-year prison sentence for allegedly bribing a minor.

Affleck and Damon are among the co-producers through Artists Equity.

In March 2023, Affleck was asked by CBS Sunday Mornings if he would like to collaborate with Lopez on the film.

“What a joy, what a joy to do something with her, to see her be wonderful, to go to work with your wife, to go to work with your best friend,” he said.

“If you’re not happy with the person you’re working with and you’re experiencing problems or difficulties at work, I think that’s one of the things that can really cause depression, anxiety and pain in people,” he added at the time.

And vice versa, [if] You like the people at work, you probably have a really good life, you know?

“I don’t want to give the impression that she’s doing it as a favor, but she is,” Affleck also said during the interview.

Ben and Jen are getting married in Las Vegas in July 2022.

When asked by Variety earlier this year if she and Affleck would ever reunite in a film, Lopez replied, “Maybe in the right movie.”

“I mean, we love working together and being together, so maybe,” she added.

Ben was last seen on Tuesday morning with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and child Fin, as they returned from taking their eldest child Violet, 18, to college.

Hours later, Lopez filed for divorce. It was her two-year wedding anniversary with him.
