Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took issue with the Congress leader’s comments and accused the party of spreading the ‘toxic politics of religious appeasement’ in any way.

The JMM and Congress have countered the BJP’s ‘Bangladesh infiltration’ narrative with a strong offensive. JMM chief and Chief Minister Hemant Soren accused the BJP of spreading communal poison in the state.
Alleging that the BJP-led NDA had looted the state for two decades, he alleged that it was his government that had extended rights and benefits to the people in the last five years.
