A legendary jockey that was eliminated in a fight he started is struck with a huge ban.
Multiple group 1-winning rider Noel Callow Was rushed to the hospital with injuries After an explosive weighing room-up-up with rival rider Kyle Wilson-Taylor.
Callow, 50, bumped into Wilson-Taylor, 25, on the scales and chased him back in the Jockeys Quartals.
An investigation ruled that Callow made ‘aggressive contact’ with Wilson-Taylor from behind before the couple fell to the ground.
Wilson-Taylor was then told that he has mounted Callow and had supplied two strokes on the head at Doomben-Renbaan in Australia.
Callow, who became concussion in the scrap, was quickly taken to the hospital and immediately got rid of racing.
Bosses have now given him a huge ban of three months, which will be reduced to two as soon as he has followed a course of anger.
Callow, who won more than £ 22 million in his career, admitted stewards in a written note that he had problems with his patience.
He must also provide evidence that he has been to visit a sports psychologist before he was allowed to race again.
In a brilliant bladder report of how the fight was out of the stewards: “After running racing six on Doomben on Wednesday 28 May 2025, both Mr. Wilson-Taylor and Mr. Callow presented to steward Simon Fletcher for their respective rides in racing six.
“Mr. Wilson-Taylor went to the scales to weigh with Mr Callow who was awaiting him in the turn of his turn to weigh.
“Mr Callow then positioned himself in the vicinity of Mr. Wilson-Taylor, who subsequently resulted in Mr. Wilson-Taylor who made contact with Mr. Callow to leave the scales.
“Mr. Wilson-Taylor then made the comment ‘I am not afraid of you’ for Mr Callow.
“Mr. Callow then continued to weigh when Mr. Wilson-Taylor then went to the male Jockey’s room.
“After completion, Mr Callow then proceeded to the Chamber of the Male Jockeys in chasing Mr. Wilson-Taylor.
“Mr Callow then made aggressive contact with Mr Wilson-Taylor from behind, resulting in a physical fight between Mr. Callow and Mr. Wilson-Taylor, so that both Mr Callow and Mr. Wilson-Taylor fell to the ground.
“Shortly after he fell to the ground, Mr. Wilson-Taylor then hit Mr. Callow twice to the head while he was placed on top of Mr Callow before other riders, together with Steward Mr Fletcher, was then able to separate Mr Callow and Mr. Wilson-Taylor.
“As fast as the exchange escalated, it was dissolved and it was completed. It had taken 15 or 20 seconds.
“This was not an incidentdom and planned in advance. It was a temporary shipping loss, and every fine should reflect that.
“There was initiation of the fight by Callow, but that must be weighed against his subsequent restraint, his cooperation during the investigation, early guilty plea and steps taken in the direction of rehabilitation.
“The behavior was no longer a character with the behavior of Callow lately and it is unlikely that it will be repeated.
“He has shown insight by taking steps in the search for help with anger control.
“He has apologized in writing by his letter of 31 May 2025.”
