“Alcohol is definitely my poison. I’ve had this illusion that I can drink like a normal person for far too long,” she told the magazine.

“It got really bad when I was doing Neighbors. In my industry, I think there’s a lot to keep up with appearances. I tried to present something more than [what] I could pretend I’m the boss, try my best, but just sink.’

Jodi explained that her mental health was declining and she was initially reluctant to seek help.

“I had been in this really dark place of depression over the years. But the place I was before I went to rehab was a really dark place,” she said.

“It’s a place where I’ve been so far in this pit – that’s what I call it – that it’s really hard to think, hear, see any kind of light or connect with anyone, let alone reach out or talk to someone.

‘I had someone help me make that choice and I booked myself in… reluctantly, but within a few days I knew I was exactly where I belonged’.

Gordon, known for her roles in Neighbors and Home and Away, recently completed the immersion therapy program in the wake of her bitter break with prominent investment banker Sebastian Blackler.

In the wake of their breakup, she checked into The Sydney Retreat in Stanmore, where clients are offered a “30-day recovery program” for $8,800.

While she was staying at the clinic, a friend of Gordon told the Daily Mail Australia about her situation: ‘Jodi is in a sensitive condition.’

Last month, Magistrate Leanne Robinson at the local Windsor court ordered that Gordon and Blackler, her 18-month-old boyfriend, be banned from contacting each other until April 2024.

The AVOs cover an alleged altercation on April 3 in the far north west of Sydney.

NSW police were called to a bed and breakfast on Sunday morning and arrested Blackler, but later released him without charge.
