Joe Lycett was discovered with newborn baby and mystery girlfriend after shocking baby news
COMEDIAN Joe Lycett has been spotted taking a walk with his mystery girlfriend and newborn son for the first time after his baby news came as a bolt from the blue last month.
The TV star shocked his fans and followers when he announced he had welcomed his first child with his mystery girlfriend as many suspected one of his colorful shenanigans was at play.
But the 36-year-old is now seen deeply embracing his role as a new father as he walked around on Saturday with his baby strapped to his stomach.
Joe sported a casual look in an oversized coat, cap and sunglasses as he strolled around with his newborn in a tote bag with a tiger print on its front.
Joe’s toddler wore a red wool hat and the comic was also joined by his mystery girlfriend, who also kept it casual, in a green jacket, black leggings and trainers.
The star seemed to be thoroughly enjoying his new role as a dad as the family of three walked through a Birmingham village.
The funny man describes himself as pansexual and has always been discreet about his love life. He has only mentioned once that he had a girlfriend on his show, Late Night Lycett, with no further details about the relationship.
But in October he told how he became a father for the first time, sharing a message thanking Birmingham Women’s Hospital. He said:
“An appreciation post from me for the extraordinary @bham_womens hospital.
“My first encounter with them was years ago when they cared for a friend of mine during surgery, and most recently when they masterfully welcomed a little boy into the world, who happens to be my son.
“The care and compassion he and his mother received was exceptional; from the antenatal classes, wonderful midwives, consultants, doctors, nurses and the ongoing care in the community. We also loved their baked potatoes.
“Birmingham is so lucky to have them and I will be forever grateful for everything they have done.”
Just days before the big reveal, Joe opened up a little more about his girlfriend, but gave her a fake name to protect her identity.
Speaking on Bimini Bon-Boulash’s The Pieces podcast, he revealed: “So I have Winston the cat and my partner Denise.
“And, uh, her name’s not Denise, but I don’t talk about her because she has a job that can’t be in the public eye.
“I call her Denise because she hates the name Denise, so I live with Denise.”
Joe has regularly appeared on TV panel shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats and Never mind the Buzzcocks, and has been hosting his own show called Late Night Lycett since 2023.
It celebrates Birmingham’s diversity, with Joe joined by local heroes, LGBTQ+ icons and stars from the worlds of comedy, TV, film and music.
The first series guests included Dame Joan Collins, Richard E Grant and David Harewood.
