Joe Rogan slams Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama for hypocrisy

Podcaster Joe Rogan slammed Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama’s speeches at the Democratic National Convention, calling them hypocrites.

The 57-year-old comedian was particularly critical of Democrats for emphasizing poverty and income inequality in their speeches, despite their enormous wealth.

“(Oprah) is out there talking about income inequality and saying, ‘Hey lady, you’re fucking rich’… how can that be equal?” he said Thursday on his show, The Joe Rogan Experience.

Rogan’s criticism of the DNC comes days after he criticized liberal network MSNBC for allegedly cutting portions of his podcast to make it appear he was endorsing Kamala Harris.

Oprah was criticized for her speech on poverty and income inequality, despite her $3 billion fortune

Michelle Obama said her family was 'suspicious of people taking more than they needed'

Oprah was criticized for her speech at the DNC on poverty and income inequality, despite her $3 billion fortune. So was Michelle Obama, who said her family was “suspect of people taking more than they needed.”

At the DNC in Chicago this month, both Oprah and Michelle Obama spoke about their humble roots and took on Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

Oprah said that protecting democracy “requires standing up to life’s bullies” and that she herself had suffered from “racism, sexism, income inequality and division.”

In response, the Trump campaign shared a letter Oprah sent to the Republican Party in 2000 — when he was still a pop culture figure and not a politician — urging him to run for president. In the letter, she wrote, “Too bad we’re not running… what a team!”

In her speech, Michelle Obama made a similar argument to Oprah about “the meaning of hard work, humility and decency.”

“She and my father were not looking to get rich. In fact, they were suspicious of people who took more than they needed,” Obama said in her speech.

“They understood that it wasn’t enough for their children to thrive when everyone around us was drowning.”

Rogan, however, strongly criticized both speeches, pointing out that the leaders failed to mention their own personal plights during their lectures on inequality.

Rogan said,

Rogan said, “(Oprah) is up there talking about income inequality and saying, ‘Hey ma’am, you’re fucking rich’… how can that be equal?”

“What about Oprah?” Rogan said. “Oprah talked about her and Trump running together, and now she’s telling the DNC he’s a threat to democracy.

“She’s up there talking about income inequality, like, ‘Hey lady, you’re fucking rich’… How can that be equal?”

He continued: ‘And when Michelle Obama said, you know, I think she meant that her mother or grandmother was always suspicious of people who took more than they needed.

“Like, you’re worth so much money. That’s so crazy. You did it on a civil servant’s salary, that’s insane.”

Rogan’s criticism of the duo’s speeches at the DNC was echoed by many on the right. Conservative radio host Dana Loesch also referenced Oprah’s $3 billion fortune after her DNC speech.

“It’s kind of odd that Oprah, with her Hawaiian estate and multiple homes, expensive wardrobe, frequent luxury vacations, etc., would talk about income inequality,” Loesch wrote.
