‘Joker 2’ is now streaming. You can watch here

Arthur Fleck’s story continues in Joker: Folie à Deux, the polarizing sequel to the 2019 hit film Joker, based on characters from DC Comics. The first film made over $1 billion at the box office and was the highest-grossing R-rated film ever until Deadpool & Wolverine dethroned it in 2024.

Joker 2 picks up with Fleck in Arkham Asylum, institutionalized due to his crimes in the first film and the anarchy that followed. With medication and a quest for healing, Fleck struggles with his dual identity and keeps his Joker persona at bay. When Harley Quinn, a fellow inmate, crosses his path, Fleck discovers true love – and the music that has been in his soul all along.

The divisive Joker sequel comes from Todd Phillips, who returned to co-write, direct and produce the sequel. Joaquin Phoenix returns in the role of Fleck/Joker, for which he won the Oscar for Best Actor in 2020. Opposite him, Harley Quinn plays global pop superstar and Oscar winner Lady Gaga, who also served as a music consultant on the project. Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener and Zazie Beetz star.

How to watch Joker 2 with a VPN

Maybe you’re traveling abroad and want to stream Joker 2 on Max while you’re away from home. With a VPN you can virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to access the movie from anywhere in the world. There are even more good reasons to use a VPN for streaming.

A VPN is the best way to prevent your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic. Using a VPN is also a good idea if you’re traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network and want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins. Streaming TV can be a little smoother with a reliable, high-quality VPN that has passed our testing and security standards.

You can use a VPN to stream content legally, as long as VPNs are allowed in your country and you have a valid subscription to the streaming service you are using. The US and Canada are among the countries where VPNs are legal, but we do not recommend streaming or downloading content from illegal torrent sites. We recommend ExpressVPN, but you can also choose another provider from our best list, such as Surfshark or NordVPN.

ExpressVPN is our current top VPN pick for people who want a reliable and secure VPN; the service is compatible with a variety of devices. It normally costs $13 per month, but if you sign up for a $100 annual subscription you get four months free and save 70%.

Please note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Follow the VPN provider’s installation instructions and choose a country where your title of choice will be streamed on Max. Before you open the streaming app, make sure you’re connected to your VPN through your selected region. If you want to stream Furiosa on more than one device, you may need to configure each device to make sure you’re signed in. Go to settings and check your network connections to verify that you are logged in and connected to your VPN account. Now you are ready to open the service for streaming.

If you’re having trouble streaming, first make sure your VPN is active on the encrypted IP address. Double-check that you have followed the installation instructions correctly and that you have chosen the correct geographic area to view. If you are still experiencing connection issues, you may need to restart your device. Close all apps and windows, restart your device and connect to your VPN first. Please note that some streaming services have restrictions on VPN access.
