‘Joker 2’ Star Lady Gaga’s ‘Harlequin’ Album Is Out Friday. Here’s What You Need to Know

Lady Gaga fans, get ready: the pop megastar has two new albums on the way. And one of them is coming out this week.

Gaga, who plays Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in Joker: Folie et Deux (in theaters Friday, October 4), has announced a soundtrack for the long-awaited sequel. The companion piece, titled Harlequin, is scheduled for release on Friday. Harlequin pre-order details are now live.

The news surprised fans who were anticipating the release of Gaga’s seventh studio album. The Poker Face singer has recently been teasing something mysterious on social media, posting vague messages on Instagram, such as “Moondust gets everywhere” in one post and “Don’t tell me what to wear” in another.

Earlier this week, Billboards appeared in Los Angeles and New York, referring to the number 6.5, leading many to view this as an interim album until her next full-length studio album is released.

Gaga’s Harlequin announcement sent social media into meltdown. The posts tease the album cover, which shows the Star Is Born actress looking suitably serious as she showers fully clothed and soaking wet. They also include the full track list. At least that’s what many have inferred from the image of a milk carton from fictional brand Gayle Valley Farms.

One look at the Harlequin tracklist and it’s easy to deduce that the new album will feature updated covers of classic jazz standards. Here’s the full list:

  1. Good morning
  2. Get Happy (2024)
  3. Oh, when the saints
  4. World on a string
  5. If only my friends could see me now
  6. That’s entertainment
  7. Smile
  8. The Joker
  9. Foil for two
  10. I’m going to build a mountain
  11. Close to you
  12. Lucky mistake
  13. That’s life

Information on Lady Gaga’s seventh album — or LG7 as it’s being called — has yet to materialize. In the meantime, Harlequin (or LG6.5) is here to satisfy the hunger of Little Monsters everywhere.
