NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi on Saturday poked fun at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s memory by comparing him to outgoing US President Joe Biden and often made headlines for forgetting the names of world leaders at summits.
“My sister told me that she had heard Modi ji’s speech. And whatever we say, in that speech, Modi ji is saying the same thing today. I don’t know, maybe he has lost his memory,” he said.
“The former president of America always forgot that he had to be reminded from behind. The President of Ukraine came and the President of America said that Russian President Putin has come. He had lost his memory, the same way our Prime Minister is losing his memory,” he added, attacking the 74-year-old.
Gandhi stepped up his attack on the BJP, questioning whether it was “protecting the Constitution when it stole it Government of Maharashtra by buying MLAs.”
Rahul accused the BJP of toppling the Maharashtra government in 2022 over the Dharavi project. “This was done because of Dharavi because the people of BJP, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah wanted to give the land of Dharavi, the land of the poor of Maharashtra, land worth Rs 1 lakh crore to their friend Gautam Adani. Government of Maharashtra has been snatched from your hands.”
Rahul Gandhi was speaking at a rally in Amravati as Maharashtra goes to polls on November 20.
