After nearly a decade of collaboration, Kanye West fired a shot at Adidas for “blatantly copying” his Yeezy slides.

Adidas first unveiled their new Adilette slides earlier this month, which will cost $55, and the 45-year-old rapper isn’t too happy about it.

West took to Instagram Monday afternoon and scolded the shoe company and CEO Kasper Rorstad for the slides, which he called “fake Yeezys.”

“THIS IS YOU driving down the same street that Kobe arrived at. Maybe I’m feeling that Mamba spirit now,” West began, possibly hinting that his deal with Adidas is coming to an end.

NBA legend Kobe Bryant signed a six-year deal with Adidas before being sent straight to high school in 1996, but Bryant bought himself out of his Adidas contract in 2002.

After waiting a full year as part of his opt-out clause, he signed a new deal with Nike in 2003, where he remained for the rest of his career.

West fired a direct shot at Rorstad and said, “I can no longer vouch for this shameless copying against Kasper.”

“To the whole sneaker culture To any ballplayer-rapper or even if you work in the store. This is for anyone who wants to express themselves but feels like they can’t because they lose their contract or are made a fool of,” he added.

“Courage is not being afraid. Courage is overcoming your fear of your truth. This thou with the blue paint on my face,’ he added.

“These shoes represent the disrespect that people in power have for the talent. This shoe is a fake Yeezy made by adidas itself. I’m not talking to DC about this either. Kasper come talk to me. Happy Monday,’ West concluded.

The West and Adidas clothing and footwear deal was first announced in December 2013, with the first collection set to release in February 2015.

That line included his first shoe called Yeezy Boosts, which was limited to just 9,000 pairs available only in New York City… which sold out in 10 minutes.

It’s unclear whether Adidas or Rorstad plan to publicly respond to West’s post, though they have stood by his side in the past.

When West made controversial comments about slavery as a “choice” in 2018, Rorstad defended West.

“Kanye was and is a very important part of our strategy and has been a fantastic creator, and I’ll leave it at that. I’m not going to respond to every comment he or anyone else makes,” Rorstad said in a… Bloomberg interview May 2018.
