Kathua Terror Attack: Lawyers in Jammu Protest Against Pakistan-Sponsored Terrorism | India News – Times of India
YUMMY: Lawyers of the Jammu Balie Association A protest was held here on Tuesday against the terrorist attack on an army patrol in Kathua, which involved a act of cowardice Through Terrorists from Pakistan. Five military personnelincluding a Junior Commissioned Officer, were killed and as many people injured when heavily armed terrorists ambushed a patrol group in the remote Machedi area on Monday.
To raise anti-pakistan slogans and chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, lawyers, led by Jammu Bar Association president and senior advocate Vikram Sharma, held a protest rally outside the court complex.
They also paid tribute to the brave soldiers who gave their lives for the nation.
“Firstly, we are here to pay tribute to the army personnel who laid down their lives for the nation. We stand with their families. We are ready to lay down our lives for these brave souls who are defending the country,” Sharma told reporters.
He condemned the Kathua terrorist attackin which he stated: “It is a cowardly act of Pakistan-backed terrorists. Pakistan continues to sponsor terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Sharma said Pakistan is resorting to cowardly terror attacks through terrorists when it does not confront India directly. “They continue to support and sponsor terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
“Pakistan must be held accountable. It has supported and encouraged terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
The terrorist attack, the fifth in Jammu region in a month, was widely condemned. Political leaders, including three former chief ministers, expressed concern over the rising number of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Jammu region, where militancy has resurged after being stamped out more than two decades ago.
