Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany criticized Republicans for celebrating Johnny Depp’s victory over his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Actor Johnny Depp won his libel case against Amber Heard on Wednesday after a jury ruled in favor of all three of Depp’s defamation claims against Heard, finding she had falsely accused him of domestic violence.

The actor was awarded $15 million – $10 million in compensation and $5 million in punitive damages.

After the verdict, the official account of the GOP House Judiciary Committee posted a GIF of Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in celebration of his victory.

But Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany was quick to point out that Depp is not a friend of the GOP, saying neither Depp nor Heard finished on top after the messy case.

“These are two people who have had a toxic relationship and are both very flawed. They’re both in trouble, as their testimonies showed,” she told Fox News on Thursday.

“Look, I know there was a $15 million verdict against Amber Heard, $2 million against one of Johnny Depp’s agents. But let’s be clear. There are no winners here. No person is a winner in this case. We heard about their personal lives, intimate details.’

The former Trump press secretary also reminded her co-hosts of Depp’s call to assassinate the former president in 2017.

“And I think those who celebrate Johnny Depp are a little misguided in my opinion. I remember Johnny Depp as the actor who said, and I’ll read it right away, “When was the last time an actor killed a president?” then President Trump was president. I see some Republicans are celebrating him, I don’t think this is your man,” she said.

Heard won just one of her three counterclaims, which involved statements from Depp’s attorney suggesting that she and friends vandalized their apartment before calling the police.

She was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages of the $100 million she claimed in her counterclaim against her ex-husband and received zero dollars in punitive damages.

The judge later reduced Depp’s damages from $5 million to Virginia’s maximum of $350,000, bringing Depp’s total down to $10,350,000 — minus the $2 million he had to pay Heard.

The call to assassinate a sitting US president was just one of many anti-Trump comments the actor made.

Earlier that year, Depp had suggested that Trump was so unpopular and unkind that he threatened to wipe out the presidency.

In May 2017, Depp even offered to continue Alec Baldwin’s beloved Saturday Night Live impersonation of the president if he quit.

He previously made up his own Trump impersonation in a 2016 Funny or Die sketch

McEnamy said that if the GOP stood up for anyone facing false charges, they should stand up for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who faced charges of sexual assault during his confirmation hearings.

“If you’re looking for someone and I absolutely believe in due process and people should be heard, look at Brett Kavanaugh, not Johnny Depp,” she said. “That’s just my opinion, but the jury has decided and we respect the jury’s opinion.”
