Kerry Washington Reveals Her ‘Non-Negotiables’ for Flawless Skin at 47

Fans are claiming the 47-year-old is ‘aging backwards’ – and she’s been generous enough to reveal her skincare secrets.

DNC viewers took to social media en masse last night to react to Kerry’s facial features.
“Kerry Washington is SO beautiful. Her skin is absolutely perfect. Was perfect on Scandal and is perfect now!!” someone wrote.
“Kerry Washington is aging backwards. What a stunning woman!” said another.
“What do I have to do to get Kerry Washington skin besides be rich or genetically gifted?” tweeted a third.
According to Kerry, it’s all about drugstore products and going to bed with a clean face.
“The big non-negotiable for me is I never go to bed with makeup on,” she said WhoWhatWear.
“I always cleanse my face!”
She admitted that sometimes she just removes her makeup with Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes and that’s it.

But most nights she takes a more thorough approach.
“I’m generally more of a double-cleanse girl. So I’ll start with the wipes to get rid of the gunk from the day, and then I’ll do a cleanser.”
THE GAME-CHANGER
Of course, the Scandal star has a slightly more extensive anti-aging routine.
She also started using retinol after Isabelle, 10, and Caleb, 7, did too.
“Retinol has been a game-changer for me,” she said NewBeauty.
“I started using retinol a couple years after my son was born. So I would say about four or five years,” she told them in 2023.
She warned mothers who want to try her routine.
“I wanted to make sure I wasn’t in the period where I could have children anymore, because being pregnant is not safe,” she said.
“But luckily at that time I had a lot of other products in our range that I could fall back on.
“But I am a firm believer in retinol. It is really important.”
Retinol rules
“Retinol is a well-deserved viral ingredient because there is a lot of evidence for it,” Doctor Marisa Garshick told The US Sun.
She described products like Kerry Washington’s as “science-based.”
“It’s a great product for people who want to prevent signs of skin aging.
“So for those who suffer from fine lines and wrinkles, or for those who want to prevent them from forming.
“It’s also great for the overall texture of the skin,” she added, citing benefits such as reducing pores and correcting skin discoloration, photodamage and acne.
But be careful in the summer, she warned.
“I usually say, especially in the summer, be careful with using exfoliating acids if you’re using retinol,” she advises.
“Especially at the same time.
“Exfoliating acids and retinol can make you slightly more sensitive to the sun.
“They can also be a bit more irritating when used together.
“Regularly wearing sunscreen is always the most important thing,” she said.
One of the retinol-based products she uses is Rapid Wrinkle Repair Regenerating Cream, which is currently available at Ulta.
The cream contains retinol and a glucose complex for fast results and younger looking skin.
According to The Cleveland ClinicRetinol is added to skin care products for a variety of purposes, from anti-aging to fighting acne.
It is a form of vitamin A that promotes skin cell reproduction.
Although it works immediately, some users may experience an improvement in their skin condition before it improves.
Optimal results are only achieved after several weeks of regular use.
