Kim Kardashian’s Latest ‘Irresponsible’ Parenting May Leave Saint Feeling ‘Violated’
KIM Kardashian is as well known for being an active mother as she is for her career as an influencer, where she has earned millions by sharing large amounts of content across social media platforms.
According to a parenting expert, the Hulu star recently went a step too far after masterminding the public launch of her son’s YouTube account.
Kim, 43, told her fans on Tuesday that she had given her 8-year-old son Saint permission to create a YouTube channel.
“I finally gave Saint permission to have a YouTube channel after signing an extensive contract,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
“Subscribe!” the mother of four added, attaching a screenshot of his TheGoatSaint channel.
At the time she posted her message, she had 813 subscribers, but within a day the boy’s subscriber count had risen to 10,500.
Expert in the field of education Kirsty Ketley said Kim’s decision, despite Saint’s contract, would lead to “risky behavior.”
“I am not allowed to disclose any personal information about my family,” the contract states.
“I’m not allowed to film personal information. I’m not allowed to film while North is recording music.
“I must show my mother or guardian all videos before posting them. I give permission to any adult, if mother says so, to remove my video for any reason.
“If I don’t follow all the rules, my mother can make my page private or delete my account,” he concluded.
When People magazine called the contract, on which Saint had scribbled his name, a “joke,” Kim responded.
“JOKE CONTRACT? Oh this was not a joke. We will go to arbitration if necessary,” she tweeted.
Ketley shared her thoughts on all this with The US Sun….
Kim Kardashian has just announced that she has given her son Saint West, who is only eight years old, permission to have his own YouTube channel.
Although she made him draw up and sign a contract stating what he can and cannot do on YouTube, this is yet another irresponsible move on Kim’s part.
According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent PsychiatryChildren aged 8 to 12 spend an average of four to six hours looking at and using screens, while teenagers spend up to nine hours per day.
Much has been written about the damage that too much screen time can do to our children.
Kim has allowed Saint to participate in the social media campaign that is keeping all eyes on the Kardashians.

Sleep, behavioral and self-confidence problems may occur.
Children may also view inappropriate content, such as videos of stunts that could encourage a child to engage in risky behavior.
The Kardashians, and Kim in particular, have made their fortunes by sharing their lives publicly.
Kim has allowed Saint to take part in the social media campaign that is keeping all eyes on the Kardashian clan.
She runs the risk of him developing low self-esteem and not growing up, not knowing who he is and what he wants, becoming a manufactured member of the family.
The children may feel violated, have low self-confidence and self-esteem, and may resent their mother for putting them in the spotlight so quickly.
It is vital that parents like Kim Kardashian think carefully before allowing their children access to the internet and especially social media channels.
Regardless of whether such a contract exists, an eight-year-old child is not yet mature enough to use social media safely.
She has exposed him to the harsh online world, ridiculing Saint and taking away his privacy.

Kim doing this to Saint is another example of how she not only gives in to her children, but also lets them grow up too early.
Kim has now given in to Saint’s request for a social media account, without thinking of the consequences.
She has exposed him to the harsh online world, ridiculing Saint and taking away his privacy.
In her post letting her followers know he was on YouTube, Kim shared the “contract.” If this contract is broken, it means Kim can make the page “private” or delete the account.
She also asked her 480.9 million followers to follow him so he would have one million followers.
This means that Saint likely only gains followers because of who his mother is, and not because of his content or who he is in and of himself.
Exposing her children to the online world at such an early age could set them up for many other problems later on.
Rules and boundaries are essential for safe online use for children, but the best boundary for an 8-year-old is no social media.
Is there an ongoing clash between Kim and Kanye?
Kim has a son Saint with Kanye West, who previously had a fight with her over their daughter North’s TikTok account.
“Since this is my first divorce, what do I do if my daughter is put on TikTok against my will?” he wrote on Instagram in early 2022.
After North’s account posted a video of her lip-syncing to a Machine Gun Kelly song with her niece Penelope Disick, Kanye was back on Instagram.
“I told you guys about the TikTok thing before.”
Kim responded publicly.
“As a parent who is the primary caregiver for our children, I do my best to protect our daughter, while also allowing her to express her creativity in whatever medium she chooses, with adult supervision – because it makes her happy,” she responded at the time.
However, Kanye is said to have changed his stance following his public tirade.
“While Kanye doesn’t agree with North being able to post on TikTok, he appreciates that Kim is reasonable about certain content she posts,” a source told Us Weekly in June 2023.
“Kanye has a very strong bond with North, and while he trusts her completely, he knows she is still very young and may not always make the best judgment about what is appropriate to share with the public and what is not.”
And since the minimum age for YouTube, like other social media apps, is 13, it wouldn’t be wise for parents to follow in Kim’s footsteps.
Her contract with Saint only states that she “could” delete his account or make it private.
There is no hard and fast rule as to what happens if he breaks the terms of his contract, and at 8 years old he will likely revert to those terms.
In general, a contract is not a bad idea when you give your children a smartphone or create a social media account for the first time.
But again, this needs to be done with children who are the appropriate age for such things.
An eight-year-old, even if he is mature for his age, will still not be mature enough to deal with online life.
Instead, Saint should enjoy his youth and not grow up too early.
