He said: ‘The journey of Sofía is characterized by her perseverance and remarkable personal growth; She has naturally gone empathic and affectionate listener to an accredited “supporting companion”. A true friend in difficult times … We will very much miss the warmth and lively spirit of Sofía. ‘

The older sister Leonor of Sofía also attended the so -called ‘Hippie Hogwarts’, so called thanks to the alternative approach to education.

Future Queen Leonor graduated in 2023 and is now military training in the second year of her three years before she goes to university.

The older princess is currently aboard Juan Sebastián de Elcano who deals with naval training, so it was unable to attend Sofía’s party personally, although the sisters undoubtedly had contact on the special day.

After the birthday song, a mounting of clips and photos of the sisters of their youth to this day was shown.

The cute Snaps showed the two sisters as young royals who accompanied their parents in official commitments and also include more candid home videos of them as toddlers.

Who is the founder of UWC Kurt Hahn?

Kurt Matthias Robert Martin Hahn CBE was a German educator.

He founded various schools in Germany and the UK, including the former boarding school Gordonstoun of Prince Charles and the United World Colleges.

Hahn’s educational philosophy was based on respect for adolescents, which he believed to have a congenital decency and moral feeling, but that, he believed, corrupted by society as they got older. He believed that education could prevent this corruption, if students would have opportunities for personal leadership and to see the results of their own actions. This is a reason for the focus on outside adventure in his philosophy.

Hahn founded the institutions as a practical response to the search for new and peaceful solutions in a post -war world that is driven by political, racial and economic division.

Hahn was invited to address NATO Defense College, where he saw former enemies from different countries working together on a common goal.

With a number of colleagues, Hahn realized how much more could be done to overcome the hostility of the Cold War if young people from different countries can be brought together in a similar way.

He had a university for students who were already based in their own cultures, but influenced enough to learn from others.

Pulled from all countries, the students would be purely selected for merit and potential, regardless of race, religion, nationality and background.

In Spanish, Leonor said: ‘Hello Sofía, I could not be there today in Wales to be with you on your graduation day, but I wanted to use this opportunity to congratulate you.

‘I am so proud of you, and I see you at home quickly to celebrate. Enjoy it and a lot of kisses. ‘

After two years of studying, the celebration of Sofía comes to the prestigious school that is located in the castle of the medieval St. Donat, surrounded by 122 hectares of forests and within walking distance of the ocean.

When the Spanish royal family announced that Sofía would go to Welsh Boarding School, it was noted that she would register for courses that would treat ‘both science and art’, as well as where they participated in more creative opportunities such as theater, music and sport.

In the announcement, the family also confirmed that they would cover the £ 68,000 reimbursement for the two -year course of Sofía with their personal financing.

The statement was: “The costs of the international baccalaureate that the Infanta Sofía will take, will also be paid in full by their majesty De Koning and Queen with their annual compensation.”

UWC Atlantic College was founded by the German educational Kurt Hahn in 1962 and was called Hippie Hogwarts because of the progressive approach to education.

The school is one of the 18 that is part of the movement of the United World College, which, according to the website of its website, is a global educational movement that makes education a power to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. ‘

At the helm of the school as co-presidents are the queen and queen Noor of Jordan, so it is no surprise that the student cohort and the alumni comprise various other royals.

King Willem-Alexander, the King of the Netherlands, studied at the College from 1983 to 1985. His daughter Princess Alexia of the Netherlands followed in his footsteps and graduated in 2023, the same year as Leonor.

Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, the daughter of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, enrolled at the school in 2018, but let her time demolished in the castle because of COVID-19 and was forced to continue her studies online.

In the meantime, Princess Raiyah of Jordan, the daughter of King Hussein van Jordan and Queen Noor also lived at the institution before studying Japanese at the University of Edinburgh.

Students at the school are housed in eight specially built board homes, each offering around 48 students.

The Castle of St. Donat is the most important building of the college and houses the Tudor Great Hall, the Gothic Dining Hall, the Breenstoke Hall that is used for assemblies and versions and an extensive library of 25,000 books.

Although some lessons participate in the castle, many classes are held in modern academic blocks that were built in the 1960s-80s.

Unlike most students, they only have lessons at UWC for half a day. The first class starts at 8 am and teaching is completed by lunch.

The school deals with all the usual core subjects such as economy, English literature, mathematics, history and sciences, but also has a wide range of optional courses, including design technology, visual arts, film studies, music and global politics.

In addition to their studies, students in Hippie Hogwarts also have to undertake at least two hours of community service, two hours of physical activity and another two hours of creative activities every week.

The website of the schools says that it strives to “inspire changemakers” and searches for students who “can navigate and (reach) through the complexity of life and can go beyond easy answers.”

According to the Times, Spanish media has reported that Sofía will probably go to university instead of starting military training as her sister did after completing her studies at UWC.
