Good news for KitchenAid fans with high-end coffee needs: the brand has recently entered the espresso machine market. And more good news for those who would like to be KitchenAid fans, but have not yet given in because of the price? Many of those KitchenAid espresso machine models are available for sale on Kitchen Aid And Amazon now through July 20. Tempted? Here’s a quick look at KitchenAid’s new Espresso Collection models, along with sale details and other insights about the brand.
We’ve already tested one of the favorite kitchen brand’s espresso offerings . The gleaming countertop machines are easy to use, shiny, beautiful, and produce creamy espresso shots and frothy milk for lattes et al. KitchenAid’s espresso machines rival Breville’s flagship line, but with one notable upgrade: the bean hoppers can be removed for cleaning or to swap out the beans based on your or your housemate’s coffee preferences.

KitchenAid Espresso Collection
KitchenAid is of course best known for its iconic stand mixers, which are the standard-bearers for stand mixers in terms of both functionality and style. Far from a one-trick pony, however, KitchenAid also makes a variety of other highly regarded kitchen gadgets, including countertop appliances like toasters, food processors, rice cookers, and even full-fledged appliances like stovetops, dishwashers, and refrigerators. (Pardon me for drooling over the thought of a fully-decorated KitchenAid kitchen in a signature color.)
Just launched in spring 2024, the KitchenAid Espresso Machine Collection brings another feather in the cap of this iconic brand, bringing KitchenAid’s promise of style and quality to our favorite espresso drinks. KitchenAid currently offers 5 fully automatic or semi-automatic espresso machine models, ranging from entry-level models to professional options for those who like their daily brew in shot form:
Fully automatic vs. semi-automatic espresso machines
Now, you might be wondering: Top-quality fully automatic espresso machines take you from zero to a ready-to-drink espresso drink at the touch of a button, without the need for grinding, measuring, tamping, frothing, discarding, etc. Semi-automatic machines do some of that for you, but you have to be willing to play barista.
In KitchenAid’s models, the top-of-the-line Fully Automatic KF8 will deliver a ready-to-drink beverage for you, including those made with dairy-alternative milk. The KF7 will deliver a fully finished beverage, but is only equipped for traditional milk. The KF6 model does not include a milk container, but has a hose that allows you to pump milk from your own container into the machine. Most of the other nuances between the three fully automatic models have to do with the size of the display and functionality.
KitchenAid’s semi-automatic models require you to measure (and sometimes grind) beans and froth milk, but offer more creative control over the results. If color selection is important to you (if you’re a KitchenAid devotee, you probably are), the semi-automatic options here offer a slightly deeper selection than the standard grayscale color palette.
Save up to $200 on most KitchenAid espresso machine models
KitchenAid’s current sale coincides with the upcoming Amazon Prime Days and is being marketed as Black Friday in July(That means Christmas in July, Black Friday, and Amazon Prime Days all rolled into one big saving for potential espresso machine owners.)
The best news here is that the biggest savings are available on the already lowest priced options, further lowering the barrier to entry for potential KitchenAid Espresso Machine ownership. All models except the Fully Automatic KF8 are covered by discounts, whether you buy them on KitchenAid or Amazon, up to $200.
For maximum impact, I’ve got my eye on the Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine with Burr Grinder , which includes the milk frothing wand and comes in the widest variety of colors, including a stunning Juniper look. A high-end espresso machine should start in the $500 range, so this is KitchenAid quality at an entry-level price.
Why We Love KitchenAid Appliances
KitchenAid’s Espresso Collection will be included in our next round of espresso machine tests, but in the meantime, there are several reasons why the brand is a safe bet, beyond its iconic style. You can also be sure that you can get a deal on this one if you’re in the market for a high-end espresso machine.
For starters, KitchenAid products routinely top our “best of” lists for various kitchen appliances. Both the stand mixer and food processor have been at the top of our recent reviews. What’s more, these espresso machines have already garnered hundreds of positive reviews, despite only being on the market for a few months.
On KitchenAid’s website, every model scores 4.6 out of 5 or higher, with at least 94 different reviews. Both the Fully Automatic KF7 and KF8 score an impressive 4.8. Even on Amazon, where consumers presumably don’t automatically identify as KitchenAid devotees, every model scores at least 4.2 out of 5, with the KF6 model performing best.
While users report that the machines are quick to set up but may require some tinkering to get the hang of, KitchenAid’s espresso machines are “solidly built and border on professional quality.” Several users noted that the heavier models are on wheels, making them easy to use on your countertop.
