  • Ravens fans went crazy after Jackson liked a picture of him in a Dolphins jersey

Lamar Jackson hasn’t said much about his ongoing contract talks with the Baltimore Ravens, but he has finally said something noteworthy regarding a recent report.

A fan on Twitter cited the deal Baltimore reportedly offered Jackson, which, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, was worth more than the $230 million signed by Arizona Cardinals Kyler Murray.

Jackson simply responded to the tweet, saying ‘no they didn’t’.

Jackson’s ongoing contract negotiations are a hot topic among NFL fans and media members. Both have spent months debating not only how much money the former MVP is worth, but whether he should hold out until he gets a deal to avoid injuries.

Earlier in the preseason, Jackson told reporters that the parties would either come to a deal before the season or that negotiations would be suspended.

If no deal can be reached before then, Jackson – who has no agent – will play in the final year of his current deal this season, a fifth-year option worth more than $23 million.

Jackson has electrified the NFL for the past four years and has shown incredible athleticism for every athlete. Never mind a quarterback.

Jackson has electrified the NFL for the past four years and has shown incredible athleticism for every athlete. Never mind a quarterback.

During his four years in the NFL, Jackson was not only one of the most exciting, but also the most prolific players in the NFL. He has 9,967 passing yards, 84 passing touchdowns, 3,673 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns, setting a 37-12 starter record along the way.

Jackson has done all this while pitching at what has often been described over the years as a subpar receiving core.

The Ravens have also made it to the playoffs in three of Jackson’s four seasons, with the only outlier missing the final stretch of the season with an ankle injury. Baltimore’s final playoff run in 2020 even included Jackson’s first playoff win, after beating Tennessee 20-13 in the wildcard round.

All of these accolades have led people across the league to believe that Jackson should have a salary in the same neighborhood as, if not more than, Deshaun Watson’s $46 million a year.

ESPN’s Robert Griffin III went so far as to say that Jackson should be the NFL’s first $50 million quarterback.

Ravens fans seem to agree with Griffin’s claims and hope to see their star quarterback sign a deal worth $250 million or more soon.

Jackson caused a stir among some fans after liking a photo of him in a Miami Dolphins shirt. Just hours after the liked photo was circulated, a gofundme page was created titled “Keep Lamar in Baltimore.”

The page’s bio simply says ‘We need $250,000,000 to pay Lamar’s contract immediately’

Jackson swaps jersey with his good friend Marquis

Jackson swaps jersey with his good friend Marquis “Hollywood” Brown after the preseason game. Brown was traded from Baltimore to Arizona this offseason.

As of now, it seems more likely that Jackson won’t have a new deal when the Ravens kick off their season on September 11 with a trip to Metlife Stadium to play the New York Jets.

If Jackson doesn’t step down at some point before this off-season, the Ravens franchise would almost be guaranteed to tag him for at least a year.

If Jackson were tagged, he could not only play the 2023 season with a significant raise, but also earn more money after seeing which other top strategists get big deals first.
