Landslide blocks route to Manimahesh Lake in Bharmour region of Himachal Pradesh | India News – Times of India


An enormous landslide in the trunk Bharmour region in Mold Himachal Pradesh district has the road to the Manimahesh lake, a place of pilgrimage.
The landslide occurred on Wednesday afternoon between Donali and Guenala. According to a local official, no loss of life or property was reported in the incident.
The official said some pilgrims were on their way to Manimahesh but fortunately they were not near the impact zone of the landslide.
Following the landslide, the Chamba authorities temporarily banned traffic on this route and placed signs with this message.
The official said that efforts are currently underway to clear the debris from the landslide.
The Chamba administration has announced the official dates for the annual Manimahesh Yatra this year: from August 26 to September 11. However, pilgrims visit Manimahesh at the onset of monsoon in July.
Meanwhile, 11 roads in the state remained closed on Thursday, including four in Mandi and Shimla districts and three in Kangra district, according to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).
On Thursday, Himachal recorded a deficient rainfall of 1.2 mm, which was 86% lower than the normal rainfall of 8.8 mm. Since July 1, Himachal has recorded a total rainfall of 81.6 mm, which is 7% higher than the normal of 76.6 mm.
Keylong was the coldest place in Himachal on Thursday with the lowest minimum temperature of 11.7 degrees Celsius.
