Plans for a controversial holiday park in Loch Lomond were stuck by the Scottish government.
Ministers were expected to give permission for the development of the resort, but have now reconsidered the potential impact on Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park ‘.
The proposed £ 40 million resort was operated by Flamingo Land and had a monorail, water park, hotel and restaurants.
Ivan McKee, the Minister of Public Finance of Scotland, said that he now reminds the plans because “the appeal at national level must be determined,” the BBC.
The original proposal was first rejected in September 2024 in the midst of protests from local residents.
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority said the park did not meet environmental policy.
Flamingo Land then appealed to the Scottish government reporter who had said they intended to allow the resort as long as Flamingo Land signed a legal agreement with the National Park.
But after the recall, the future of the Flamingo Land Resort will now be taken by ministers.

Ross Greer, a Scottish green MSP, said that McKee’s decision to remember the plans was the ‘right move’.
He said: “As soon as ministers would have been considered the flood risk, loss of old forest, hundreds of extra cars that would have been brought on notorious roads and the litany of other devastating effects, I am sure that they would reject the mega resort application and eventually reject these decades-long Saga.”
The deputy leader of Scottish Labor, Jackie Baillie, also welcomed the decision and claimed that the SNP had ‘had to ignore worry’ over the park time and time again.
De Balloch and Haldane Community Council said that last week it had more than 50,000 new objections to the plans.
Flamingo Land submitted updated plans for its park in 2020 and described the development, set to be called Lomond BanksAs a ‘big step away’ from his other resorts in the theme park.
