Model and former Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic has just been named an ambassador for Beautifully Healthy, an online store that helps people look and feel their best.

And now Laura, 34, has detailed her ‘holistic’ approach to health and wellness in a new interview with Daily Mail Australia.

Laura spoke candidly about her take on fitness and nutrition, and also revealed how she made her mental health ‘priority’ in lockdown.

Laura said she focused on staying in touch with her friends while she was in lockdown, making sure she had a routine to give her a “goal” and making sure she exercised to maintain her mental health.

“I think for me Covid was a really hard time for everyone and the hard part was that in some ways it was a shared experience, everyone couldn’t see friends and family,” Laura began.

“And yet there was another element, we all went through things differently… when it first started it was pretty overwhelming and I prioritized my mental health above all else and prioritized what would work for me.” and that was routine.’

‘That’s part of having a goal every day. It made me feel like I wasn’t wasting my time and that I’m getting something out of it,” she explained.

Laura shared how she had ‘walked a lot’ in lockdown and had a step race with her friends, and how she sometimes trained with the trainers from Acero gym at a local park in their radius.

Speaking of her approach to health and wellness, Laura said it’s very “holistic.”

“Everything that I don’t think is healthy in my life, I try to turn into something sustainable,” she explains.

“With food, I don’t want to be like, ‘I’m not going to eat junk,’ so I make healthy versions of those kinds of treats.”

Laura said that while she likes to exercise and moves her body, she also listens to it and doesn’t exercise when she’s exhausted.

“And in fitness, people always ask me for an overview of what workouts I do. I don’t have a set number of times I train a week,” she said.

‘I listen to my body, when I’m tired and exhausted, I don’t train. If I have a lot of energy and want to train five to six times a week, I will.’

Laura also said that while she eats healthy, she also prioritizes sleep and gets at least eight hours a night as “non-negotiable.”

Laura, who has a degree in psychology, has just been named an ambassador for Beautifully Healthy, which sells everything from beauty products to health foods, vitamins and medicines.

“It’s a one-stop shop with a bunch of my favorite brands and a wide variety of products. I like working with a company that has all areas, such as fitness and nutrition,” said Laura.
