LAURYN Goodman has been criticised for her son Kairo’s designer bedroom, which they say doesn’t look like a ‘children’s room’.
The 34-year-old influencer, who has a four-year-old son, Kairo, and a daughter known only as KW with professional footballer Kyle Walker, posted on Instagram to share his recently decorated room.
The photos show how she transformed his room into a blue ‘sanctuary’ with ‘lots of textures for a cozy’ room.
Lauryn wrote in the Instagram caption: “Creating an adorable sanctuary for this handsome little boy @kairowalker was a dream.
“Lots of textures for the cozy, toy and book storage for the practical, larger bed as he grows, and subtly themed lighting for his favorite sport.”
The room is carpeted and has a white double bed with a quilted headboard with blue lining around it.
She decorated it with a blue duvet cover, matching pillows and a chest at the foot of the bed.
The model kept things chic and classic by keeping the walls free of decoration, aside from a simple piece of artwork in the shape of an elephant.
On either side of the bed, Lauryn added gold lampshades and blue bedside tables.
And while the room has received many compliments, many feel that it looks more like a hotel than a child’s room.
Someone wrote: “It’s beautiful, but it looks more like a hotel room than a four-year-old’s bedroom”
“No offense, but this is not a nursery,” added another.
But Lauryn defended herself and responded quickly.
Sanctuary
She wrote: “Yes this is his bedroom so a nursery lol.
“He loves it, his play floor is downstairs and he goes to sleep here.”
Another added: “Sorry but that doesn’t look like a child’s room, it looks like an adult bedroom.”
Lauryn felt the need to defend herself again and replied, “That’s okay. We see bedrooms for sleeping and all of his fun stuff is on his play floor. He just sleeps there and loves it.”
But there were also others who defended the mother of two and praised her for her good work.
One Instagram user said: “Too bad Kyle can’t see the ‘lifestyle’ you provide for his kids… he should.
“Take care of all his children! So unfair that you had to do this alone. All on mummy power! You can do this… I bet he pays the bare minimum!”
Another fan stood up for her, writing: “As she says, she has a playroom for her babies so I think it’s a good idea to have toys in there too, a sanctuary for sleep. If I had the space I would do the same.”
Someone else added: “I don’t know what people are moaning about, this room is beautiful! How lucky you are. You did an amazing job, Mom.”
