- Leaked images show a small, modular portable camera
- Suggests that the DJI Osmo Nano will match the Insta360 Go 3S
- Release date rumors for next month, for another new Insta360 model
They may be grainy, but leaked images of the DJI Osmo Nano has made me enthusiastic. If the stills are legitimate – and they look pretty convincing – DJI can so far launch the smallest, most portable action camera. That is big news if you are a maker who shoots first-person content for social. It also seems to induce things in the Action Cam market.
Based on the images that you can see in the embedded X post below, the rumors Osmo Nano is shunning for the Insta360 GO 3S. This action camera mounted on the magnet sets De Standaard for Handsfree filming. With a small design and flexible mounting options you can easily make creative POV recordings. For that reason, it takes the best modular awards in our list of the Best Action Cameras.
Based on the leaked Dji Osmo Nano Stills, it has a camera unit of comparable size that can be magnetically attached to clothing. There also seems to be an optional modular screen block for those who want to frame photos or images that want to judge immediately. Of course DJI has not confirmed anything – but the leaks come from a reliable source. The product certainly looks.
The battle for the market has only just begun. Who chooses the user: @djiglobal cameras or @insta360 cameras? #Djiosmonano #insta360 pic.twitter.com/v4zsvbj92June 12, 2025
DJI to go?
The leaked images – originally posted on Chinese social media before they were picked up by DJI Leaker @Quadro_news -Let the camera on the front of a T-shirt, probably held in place by a magnetic back. Due to the low resolution of the stills, it is difficult to say whether there is a protective housing.
Of course DJI shape when it comes to modular action cameras. The DJI Action 2 Launched in 2021 with an innovative modular design. It broke from the established form factor in GoPro-style, in favor of a small, square camera unit that could be magnetically attached to different modules, including a battery and display block.
Although the Action 2 had its fans, it was not the most convincing proof of concept. It ran hot and struggled with little light. Waterproofing also did not extend to the modules. In short, it has not recorded the use case first-person. In the end, DJI returned to a traditional action cam design with the Dji Osmo Action 3.
That is why the Osmo Nano -Lek is so exciting. It feels like Dji’s second swing to something that could really disrupt the portable camera room. It also represents a diversification for DJI: not content against GoPro in the mud and glory market, it suggests that DJI also likes to stand for informal makers.
If you want to record, cook or just want to record the content of a natural, human perspective, the Osmo Nano could be the most interesting DJI product in years. A featherweight, clip-and-forget action camera that leaves your hands completely free? That is a different proposition than everything in his line-up.
The people in the leaked images also seem to wear microphones, suggesting that the DJI Osmo Nano Audio recording will support via a wireless microphone, such as the DJI MIC MINI. That was a function that was missing in the Osmo Action 2 – and one that was already offered by the Osmo Action 5 Pro.
Of course there are still many strangers. We do not know the specifications, video resolution, stabilization or lifetime of the battery. We don’t even know if ‘Osmo Nano’ is the last name. DJI finally dropped the Osmo Branding earlier and revived. But only the form factor suggests a completely different product than the contemporary cameras from DJI. If it is accurate, this can be the start of a new line aimed at makers who care more about portability than for control.
I will keep a close eye on more information. If it is really a first-person camera that combines the imaging pork chops of DJI with Insta360-style portability, the Osmo Nano could become the portable camera to defeat. Part of it comes down to reliability and the user experience, factors that I can only assess when it becomes available for assessment.
Based on other leaks, I don’t have to wait long to find out: if We recently reportedThe model could break the cover at the beginning of July 2025, in addition to the DJI 360-to-it reportedly Dji’s first 360-degree camera.
