Legendary Australian entertainment icon and PR guru found dead in his luxury Sydney apartment at the age of 43
Renowned Australian PR guru Jai Evans has died at the age of 43.
He was found dead in his luxury apartment in the Horizon complex in Darlinghurst, central Sydney. However, there are conflicting reports about exactly when he died and how long his body lay undiscovered.
A friend told Daily Mail Australia that he died last Sunday but was not found until Thursday. Other reports indicate that he was found dead on Saturday. Daily Mail Australia has contacted NSW police for comment and clarification.
His case of death is unknown, but The Daily Telegraph According to police, there were “no suspicious circumstances.”
When police declare a death non-suspicious, it means they have found evidence that no third party was involved and that no crime was committed.
Bondi fitness entrepreneur Dan Wootton confirmed the news of Evans’ death in a statement on social media on Friday.
“RIP, Jai Evans. Another beautiful friend gone far too early before his time,” Dan wrote, alongside a photo of Evans in happier times.
“Your vibrant energy and willingness to help was unmatched. Rest in peace, Jai. Love you, mate.”

Evans had more than twenty years of experience in the public relations industry.
In 2005, he founded his own company Evans Media and has worked with hundreds of media companies to help them with their PR strategies.
During his successful career, Jai worked as an advertising manager, publicist, magazine publisher, editor and all-round public relations expert.
Evans has helped many key players in the Australian media, including Channel Nine, Sky News, News Limited, BRW and Vogue, achieve their marketing goals.
The talent expert also boasts a host of celebrity friends, including model Lara Worthington and e-commerce queen Anastasia Fai Kogan.
He also had a brief acting career, appearing in Home and Away in 1997.
Fellow publicist Roxy Jacenko, who rose to fame with Evans on Sydney’s PR scene 20 years ago, praised him as a “real networker”.
“He was just like me, one of the new generation of PRs,” she said. “He always had the hottest girls to take to events [and was] always up for trying something different.’
His cause of death is unknown, but police are not treating the case as suspicious. A report is being prepared for the coroner. He is pictured with Anastasia Fai Kogan in April 2015
Earlier this year he advised Pedestrian about some of the challenges the cast of Married At First Sight face when they’re in the spotlight.
“It can be difficult for controversial MAFS figures to navigate the social media landscape,” Evans said.
‘This is because brands and companies may be reluctant to do business with someone who appears to have damaged their credibility.’
