LG Sinha leads pledge in preamble as J&K celebrates Constitution Day for the first time | India News – Times of India
Jammu and Kashmir will celebrate ‘Samvidhan Diwas’ on Tuesday for the first time since 1950, when the country’s constitution was adopted by Parliament.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led senior officers in reading the preamble at the Civil Secretariat. In a post on X, the LG said: “Greetings on Constitution Day. Tribute to the makers of our Constitution. On this momentous occasion, I call on all to uphold the sanctity of the Constitution and further strengthen the principles of social justice and equality and let us devote ourselves to peace and progress of society (sic.).”
The speaker of the meeting managed the Preamble promise on this occasion in the House of Representatives. Preamble reading ceremonies were held in government offices, PSUs, educational institutions and other institutions in J&K.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to J&K in his address at an event to mark Constitution Day celebrations at the Supreme Court and said the Constitution has now been fully implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.
