Liam Payne’s sad girlfriend seen for the first time since his funeral: Kate Cassidy spotted in London after saying goodbye to One Direction star

Liam Payne’s heartbroken girlfriend cut a desperate figure as she was seen in public for the first time since the superstar singer was laid to rest.

Grief-stricken Kate Cassidy, 25, was spotted on a solo trip in central London.

The American model braved the winter chill in a long white fluffy coat and dark sweatpants as she strolled down the street before heading into a cafe.

Clutching a mobile phone and a small handbag, she appeared without make-up and with her hair up as she walked anonymously through the busy streets.

It comes just days after Kate joined the former One Direction star’s family and friends as they said a tearful farewell to the star last week.

Liam, 31, was buried after his coffin was driven in a white horse-drawn hearse to the 12th century St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Bucks.

His One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson were among the mourners.

They were united in grief as they appeared together in public for the first time since the band split in 2015.

Former Girls Aloud star Cheryl, mother of Liam’s seven-year-old son Bear, was also in attendance.

One of the floral displays featured bowling pins and a ball – a nod to his love of bowling, which Ms Cassidy said he did four times a week.

Liam died on October 16 from head injuries he suffered after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel suite in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Liam and Kate had been in the country to attend former bandmate Horan’s sold-out concert in the city.

Kate flew back to the couple’s Miami home on October 14, while Liam stayed behind to renew his US visa.

After his death, she wrote an emotional tribute on Instagram, saying: ‘Thank you for all the kind words and love sent my way.

‘I was completely at my wits’ end. Nothing about the past few days felt real. I ask and pray that you give me the grace and space to deal with this privately.”

‘Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know that I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will love you for the rest of my life. I love you, Liam.”

She told how the couple were looking forward to getting married, but added: ‘Liam, I know we will be together forever, but not in the way we planned.’

Kate and Liam first started dating in October 2022 and made their red carpet debut at the Fashion Awards later that year.

The pair then put an end to the split rumors by enjoying a date in London in June last year, and later that year she supported him when he was rushed to hospital with a ‘severe kidney infection’.
