NEW DELHI: Congress on Saturday reiterated its concerns over the credibility of electronic voting machines (EVMs) used in Haryana polls. Pointing out a ‘strange coincidence’, Pawan Khera said a list of 20 constituencies had been submitted to the Election Commission where the EVMs showed full charge while counting.
“We have sent a list of 20 seats to the Election Commission, on which our candidates have filed written and oral complaints of 99%. charge battery.This issue was raised on the day of the census,” Khera said.
“This is a strange coincidence that the machines showing 99 percent battery charge were the machines on which Congress largely lost out. The machines with 60-70 percent battery charge are the machines on which Congress won. Why did this happen? ?” he added.
In a memorandum submitted to the ECI, Congress highlighted issues faced by many of its candidates, particularly regarding the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used for counting and their battery capacity.
“In this view, we have collected the additional 13 complaints/issues raised in Haryana constituency and attached all twenty complaints. The list of the twenty complaints from the various constituencies of Parliament are: Narnaul, Karnal, Dabwali, Rewari, Hodal, Kalka, Panipat City, Indri, Badkhal, Faridabad NIT, Nalwa, Rania, Pataudi (SC), Palwal, Ballabhgarh, Barwala, Uchana Kalan, Gharaunda, Kosli and Badshahpur,” the memorandum said.
A delegation of Congress leaders, including KC Venugopal, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Ashok Gehlot, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, Ajay Maken and Uday Bhan, met the Election Commission of India on Wednesday to express their concerns over the results. of the Haryana elections.
