Under the Consumer Protection Act, the CCPA can initiate a class action when there are similar complaints that could impact the “class” of consumers. According to the CCPA notice, there were more than 10,600 complaints against the electric two-wheeler manufacturer.
The law gives the CCPA the authority to order recalls, refund the prices of goods or services to buyers, and also to end practices that are unfair and detrimental to the interests of consumers.
Sources said the CCPA was seeking a response within 15 days.
