Little Bay, Sydney: Body found on popular beach

A search operation is launched at sea and on land after a body is found on a popular beach.

At around 11am on Sunday, emergency services received a report of “concerns for welfare” at Little Beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, a police spokesperson said.

Police found a number of objects on rocks in the area.

“A short time later a body was found near the rocks. The person has yet to be formally identified. No further details are available at this time,” they said.

The police have not yet announced what items were found.

The area is currently being searched by the police Marine Area Command, which also has a helicopter present.
