Logan, Queensland: Fake tow truck driver steals Holden Commodore parked outside shopping centre

A woman’s car was stolen in the middle of the day by a man posing as a tow truck driver.

Mako Shanks parked her car outside the Grand Plaza shopping centre in Browns Plains, Logan, south of Brisbane, on Tuesday. When she walked out an hour later, she discovered her car was gone.

While she was in the store, a truck driver had hooked her bronze Holden Commodore sedan behind his unregistered and unmarked truck and simply drove away.

A passer-by noticed something was wrong and filmed the Commodore being towed away.

The Commodore’s front bumper was torn off when the truck swerved and hit an electricity pole.

Mrs. Shanks shot the thief, but her car was still gone.

“Get a fucking job. You’re nothing but a low life,” she said Seven news.

“It’s heartbreaking because you go to work, you sweat like crazy, you work for what you have, and then some thug from society takes you away.”
