‘Looks like you didn’t bother,’ people slam wedding guest’s ‘teachery’ dress
FINDING the perfect outfit for your wedding guests is no easy task and every wedding has its own dress code.
But one woman has been criticized online for her choice of wedding dress, which looks like she put no effort into it.
She asked for advice on social media about her wedding dress and hoped to be able to use it later.
She wrote: “Can I wear something like this to a wedding (with heels)?
“I like the 50’s style, and this color, and I would like sleeves (it’s a fall wedding, and a Catholic one).”
But it seemed even she wasn’t sure about the style, as she added, “Is it too much like a teacher?”
The dress in question was from Amazon and cost £35.52. It was available in five colours, but she chose the red.
The dress reached just above the knees, had a collar, long sleeves and was buttoned all the way up.
It also came with a belt to accentuate the waist.
According to Amazon bosses: “An elegant dress that is perfect for any occasion.
“A flattering, casual dress that you can easily wear to work.”
But it seems not everyone was impressed with the look, she even admitted that she would like to wear it every day.
She continued: “And honestly I thought to myself I could keep it to wear the office after the wedding “
The post went viral on Mothernet and many people responded to the comments to share their thoughts.
Everyone agreed that the outfit was way too casual for a wedding and looked more like office wear.
Someone wrote: “It” is more of something I would wear to the office.
Wedding Guest Etiquette
If you’re having trouble choosing a dress for wedding season, here are a few rules about what not to wear so you don’t get into trouble.
- According to tradition, wearing red to a wedding means you have slept with the groom.
- Informal clothing such as jeans and flip-flops should always be avoided.
- Any color that can be recognized as white or cream, even if it is not.
- Most will agree that your décolletage should be covered.
- Wearing white is absolutely taboo if you are not the bride.
Another commented: “No, it’s way too casual. It looks like you didn’t put any effort into it at all.”
“Looks a bit casual to me. Something else I’d wear to the office in the summer,” wrote a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Way too casual.”
“It’s way too informal for a wedding, it looks like you haven’t put any effort into it,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “What? That looks horrible.”
