Lorraine viewers were left stunned at how ‘horrible’ a guest’s hair makeover is
LORRAINE viewers were left with their jaws on the floor after Kate Middleton’s hairdresser gave Middleton an ’80s guest makeover.
A woman called Matty appeared on the ITV show this morning, where she received an ’80s-inspired hair transformation.
The viewer’s epic makeover, inspired by the popularity of shows like Rivals and period drama Joan, was teased throughout the episode before emerging alongside hairdresser Richard Ward at the end.
The beauty guru is best known for styling the beautiful locks of Princess of Wales, 42, for her wedding to Prince Willian in 2011.
The presenter praised the transformation, adding that the ’80s-style makeover had shaved years off her appearance – and even Sarah Ferguson was amazed by the results.
The Duchess of York, 65, thought the new hairstyle made Matty look like the beloved royal Princess Diana.
Matty himself was absolutely thrilled with the new image, saying: “I love it, I absolutely love it.”
The artist behind the masterpiece predicted that ’80s hair could make a comeback, saying: ”The modern twist is to have it long enough to tuck it behind your ears. I think this is really going to take off.”
However, Lorraine viewers had a radically different opinion, saying: ”That haircut looks bloody awful – like she’s been dragged backwards through a hedge!”
Another unimpressed critic opined that the makeover had aged her by twenty years.
“They made her look 20 years older.”
Others wrote: ‘Damn sing her to a care home now, she looks so old now… ’80s hair should stay in the 80s.’
Some viewers thought they made Matty look like former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“She used to be Hillary Clinton, f***ing hell… She looks just like Hillary Clinton.”
This comes after Lorraine Kelly took a savage swipe at her ITV colleague Richard Madeley while on a rival channel.
The TV presenter was a guest presenter on Have I Got News for You, a comedy quiz show on the BBC.
Lorraine said: “What fun we had!” as she shared a clip from the scripted program.
How to achieve Kate Middleton’s iconic hair?
JACK Merrick-Thirlway, from Neville Hair and Beauty, gave their expertise…
Speaking to Fabulous, Jack said maintaining Kate’s level of shine and smoothness requires “consistent care and high quality products”.
They advised: “For hair like Kate’s, hydration is essential. I would recommend SachaJuan’s Moisturizing Shampoo and Moisturizing Conditioner, which are perfect for adding and locking in moisture, leaving hair soft, supple and manageable.
“These are ideal for maintaining her long, sleek style without adding weight.
“For deep nourishment, SachaJuan’s Intensive Repair Conditioner is a fantastic choice.
“It helps repair and hydrate hair, leaving it strong and shiny. For even more shine and protection, SachaJuan’s Intensive Hair Oil is perfect for giving hair a rich, shiny finish.
“This oil is quickly absorbed and provides moisture without making the hair greasy. It is an ideal product to get that beautiful, polished look that we often see on Kate.”
Jack advised that by combining regular salon treatments with top quality products, anyone can achieve the luxurious, healthy glow that the Princess of Wales is known for.
They added: “The secret is focusing on deep hydration and nourishment, which makes all the difference when it comes to achieving that flawless finish.”
During Friday night’s episode, Lorraine read from the teleprompter: “In other news, Rachel Reeves is accused of lying on her resume.
“But we all did that, didn’t we, for work purposes?
“For years I claimed to be friends with Richard Madeley.”
She managed to keep a straight face after telling the joke in front of amused panellists, comedian Maisie Adam and journalist Matt Chorley, and team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop.
Lorraine’s fans praised the TV star on social media, with one writing: “Absolutely amazing beautiful well done, loved it and love you even more now.”
Another said: “Beautiful and funny as the chair, best episode of the series yet.”
