Love Island star Molly Smith swears by £5.99 purchase to perfect her makeup look
MOLLY Smith has revealed a cheap makeup trick that will ensure your eyeshadow always stays put on your lid.
The former Love Island star, 29, gave her TikTok followers a step-by-step makeup tutorial and everyone is loving it.
The video, for which her friend and former Love Island contestant Tom Claire provided the voice, she started with Molly filling in her eyebrows.
Next, she moves on to her eyes and grabs her concealer from L’Oréal Paris, which costs £8.26 on Amazon.
And here’s where the clever trick came in.
Molly applied some dots on her eyelids and blended them out.
The experts at L’Oréal confirm this trick on their website.
They said, “When using eyeshadow, it’s important to prep your lids with a base product, like an eye primer or concealer.
“These makeup essentials prevent your eyeshadow from creasing or fading, and keep shades vibrant all day long.”
Molly then uses the L’Oreal Infallible Powder in a slightly darker shade to create a strong base and set the concealer.
Then she applies winged eyeliner, curls her lashes and applies mascara.
The video has since gone viral with many people taking to the comments to share their thoughts.
Someone wrote: “I love it.”
Another added: “I love how you do your eyes, the commentary was brilliant.”
A third said: “I love how you blend under your eyes. I hate seeing the light under girls eyes. They need lessons from you Molly.”
Former Love Island contestant Matilda Draper also recently shared her makeup trick.

She showcased a £6 product that she uses to create her ‘dewy’ evening look in the villa.
The 24-year-old former Love Island contestant shared her makeup routine on TikTok that enhanced her glamorous look.
Matilda starts her routine with a toner or micellar water to ensure she has a clean base for applying makeup.
She then applies the Weleda Skin Food Light cream, which costs from £6.71. Holland & Barrett.
“This is my favorite moisturizer; it makes me really dewy. I have dry skin, so I need this before I put on my makeup,” she explains.
Best beauty dupes
Fabulous’ beauty editor Tara Ledden revealed which budget versions of your favorite beauty products you need in your closet.
“According to new research from Elf Cosmetics, a whopping 55% of us want to spend less on our beauty routines. It’s no wonder that there are millions of #dupe videos on TikTok.
“While some counterfeit products are easily identified by their similar packaging, they often fall short when it comes to their contents.
“In fact, some of the best imitations look nothing like the luxury product they mimic. And trust me, those are the imitations you want.”
REAL: Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer, £32.50 DUPE: Natural Collection Bronzer, £3.50, a saving of £29. The Natural Collection Bronzer is available in more shades, although there is no mirror in the compact.
REAL: Milk Makeup Hydro-Grip Primer, £35 DUPE: Elf Power Grip Primer, £10. These two have a similar green tint and the same long-lasting, mattifying properties. However, Elf’s is so popular that it’s just as hard to get hold of.
REAL: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick, £28 DUPE: L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Satin Lipstick Beige A Now, £8.99. The shades of these two lipsticks look virtually identical on the lips. The Charlotte Tilbury lipstick is matte, but the L’Oreal Paris Lipstick has a satin finish. This makes it more comfortable to wear all day.
REAL: Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation, £40 DUPE: Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation, £6.99 Although they don’t look the same on the outside, the formula, consistency and longevity of both foundations are pretty much the same. Unfortunately, Collection only comes in 20 shades, while Estee Lauder has 60.
REAL: Glossier Boy Brow, £20 DUPE: Essence Make Me Brow Gel, £2.50 There’s a whole Reddit thread dedicated to this dupe, so you know it’s got to be good. They both have a waxy consistency and added fibres to make brows appear fuller. I have to say the shade range is much better with Boy Brow, but if you’re a tanner there are plenty of Essence shades to try.
