Maharashtra election results: Actress Swara Bhasker blames EVMs after husband Fahad Ahmad's defeat
NEW DELHI: Actress Swara Bhasker was blamed on Saturday Electronic voting machines (EVMs) on Saturday after her husband Fahad Ahmad‘s defeat in the Anushakti Nagar constituency from Maharashtra, where he stood as a candidate for the NCP (SCP).
“In Anushakti Nagar vidhaan sabha, after steady lead by @FahadZirarAhmad of NCP-SP… round 17, 18, 19, suddenly 99% EVMs of battery chargers are opened and BJP supported NCP-Ajit Pawar candidate takes the pipe.

How can machines that have been tuned all day have 99% charged batteries? Why are all the 99% charged batteries giving votes to the BJP and its allies?,” Swara Bhasker said in a post on X.

In a closely contested battle, Fahad Ahmad initially maintained an edge over Sana Malik, representing the Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction, but eventually conceded defeat in the final round of counting even though the final results were not announced. As per the latest EC trends, Sana Malik was leading by a margin of 3,378 votes.
Anushakti Nagar constituency is part of the Mumbai South-Central Lok Sabha seat.
The Mahayuti alliance has scored an important victory, gaining more than 220 seats ahead and crossing the required majority threshold.
After the alliance’s success in crossing the half-mark in Maharashtra, BJP workers started celebrations at their Mumbai office, distributing sweets.
While the opposition faced a decisive setback in Maharashtra, they found some solace in Jharkhand as voters in both states chose to maintain the status quo rather than embrace change.
