Maharashtra polls: MVA candidates finished third with 29 seats, Mahayuti at 9 | India News – Times of India
Of the 29 seats, 17 candidates of Sena (UBT) finished third and one finished fourth.
While a close battle was expected, it turned out to be a one-sided outcome as the MVA – comprising the Congress, NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) – was decimated by Mahayuti to 46 seats, leaving a rich harvest of 230 seats yielded. in the 288-member House. For Mahayuti, BJP led the show with 132 seats, followed by Shiv Sena (57) and NCP (41). For MVA, Shiv Sena (UBT) won 20, Congress 16 and NCP (SP) 10 seats.
Although Thackeray’s party won the maximum number of seats among the MVA partners, 18 of its candidates failed to secure the second position. The candidate from Nandgaon in Nashik district, Ganesh Dhatrak, finished fourth. Suhas Kande of Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde won the seat. Even an independent Rohan Borse was ahead of Dhatrak and finished third.
Among the other seats, Airoli’s choice Manohar Madhavi, Sena (UBT) finished third. He was in a direct battle with BJP’s Ganesh Naik, who emerged victorious. In Kalyan Rural, Thackeray’s candidate Subhash Bhoir finished third against Sena’s Rajesh More. Pramod Patil of MNS came second.
Congress candidates finished third in Warora, Vasai, Solapur City Central, Aurangabad East, Amalner and Achalpur.
Five candidates of NCP (SP) were pushed to third position in Pandharpur, Morshi, Chandgad, Ashti and Aheri.
Before Mahayuti, no BJP candidate finished third. However, six Shiv Sena candidates and three NCP nominees finished at third position.
